  1. It sure does not seem like it has been 12 years since Diana passed. I remember seeing the news break-in on tv in the middle of the night...and calling and waking everyone I knew to share the sad news.

  2. I was watching TV when I saw the news on EVERY channel, including MTV, about the crash that took the princess's and her boyfriend's lives and left her sons without a mother. Yes, Princes William and Harry wound up growing to be fine young men, but they still needed a mother's guidance.

  3. I can't believe it's been that long. I remember exactly what I was doing the night it happened. We were playing Scrabble and they reported on the radio that she'd been in an accident - it didn't seem like a big deal at all.

When I went home hours later it was all over the TV that she had passed. It was so shocking.

  4. It is hard to believe that 12 years has passed since that tragic day. I remember being on my way Up North for a Labor Day getaway and hearing the news from a gas station attendant...unbelievable!

  5. Yes, it is hard to believe all those years have gone by since her death....I was glued to the tv....I had gotten up to do my workout and turned the tv on and at first I couldn't grasp what they were saying! Very tragic, indeed.

  7. I never ride in a vehicle without fastening a seat belt. I just wish city and school buses also had them to protect passengers who ride them.

  8. I remember going to work on that Sunday morning after, to open up a store at the mall. I was early so I could get the registers and register assignments set for the day. I turned on the radio to hear the news. I remembering thinking it was some kind of joke and then realized it was true. So sad, because you are right Vicki, if she were only wearing a seatbelt. Alas, we always lose the young, beautiful ones. Princess Diana, Princess Grace....

  16. and all the cr*p the British Royal family did too on how to treat the death of Diana...

  17. Don't forget: her sons are also part of the royal family. I do agree, Cheri, that Queen Elizabeth could have been a whole lot kinder to the mother of either William V or Henry IX (the possible names used if either William or Harry ascend the throne upon the death of their father, or the death of their grandmother should their father predecease her, although whoever ascends the throne may choose a different name altogether).
