  2. CM, usually when somebody says something is tasteless I have to check it out because it's usually something that amuses me to no end. However, I must agree, this IS totally tasteless.

  4. lol HM. I have to admit, I have a warped sense of humor too and I find things funny that others would not. This however...I don't know..just made me wonder and shake my head.

  5. Why do people blame the 'liberals' for tasteless T-shirts and other clothing, not to mention crimes against humanity? I AM a liberal; however, that shirt was just tacky. Children's clothes should be fun and sweet, not tawdry and trashy. I wouldn't wear that shirt; why would I let a child wear it?

  6. Totally tasteless CM. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  7. That is truly tasteless. I hope that there are so many protests that they are forced to remove this from the market.

Now, my question would also be.... what kind of parent would even buy this for a young girl????

  8. I won't mention his name, but he's the 'father' of Jaycee Dugard's daughters.

  9. The lack of brains in some people never ceases to amaze me.......anything for money.

  10. This was her idea of a protest?

  11. I thought it was funny at first -- until I realized it was meant for toddlers. That is bad.

    These are also very wrong.

  13. There was one with the slogan, "The condom broke." This implies that the child wearing the shirt is unwanted, not just a surprise.

  14. I would never put those shirts on my girls either Metsa..I agree with you.
Dee, I couldn't believe it when I read it is her way of protesting...WHAT???????
    She's an idiot.

  15. I think that one offended me the most too, Vicki, until I saw one online that said 'they shake me'. It's just sick.

  16. I agree Vicki. I would not want my kids to think they were not wanted. Mine were wanted very much! Some people though....

  17. I believe I'm not a mother yet for a reason: if I were a mother and I found out about this type of clothing, I would probably raise so big a stink about it that you'd be able to smell it from here to Kolkata (halfway around the world from Cleveland; don't let anyone tell you that if you dug nearly 8000 miles through the Earth's diameter you'd wind up in China -- I'd actually wind up in India).

  18. Metsa, you've been reading our papers, probably on BBC. The BBC only seem to print anything odd or gross from NZ.
Those kiddies T-shirts are totally tasteless, it was a big talkback radio topic here for some days.

  19. Disgusting! What kind of protest has kids wearing disgusting shirts or playing with pole dancing dolls? I am sorry but the gene pool needs chlorine.

  20. LOL! Excellent comment SMM!

  21. OK, I was wrong about ending up in India; I'd probably end up in Phnom Penh, Cambodia or Phuket, Thailand rather than Kolkata, India if I dug through the Earth's diameter.

  22. WTF???? For little girls??? sad what people are willing to do to our children to earn a buck!!

  23. Yeh the links did seem to be NZ stuff, did they actually get as far as selling the stuff or was it shut down? If you google 'cotton on kids t shirts' there are some other dodgy ones too. I do wonder if it was a publicity stunt but noone wants that kind of publicity surely?

Posted 6 months ago by metsa #

  24. About this 'protest': that's like Martin Luther King, Jr. using the N-word in his civil rights crusade or his "I Have a Dream" speech.

Posted 6 months ago by Vicki #

  25. I don't think it was a publicity stunt Metsa, it was someone's sick way of making money. There's always someone who doesn't find it offensive and will buy the stuff.

A public campaign is probably the only way to get the kids wear stopped.

  26. They didn't know the slogans were offensive? eh? what idiots.

Posted 6 months ago by metsa #

  27. "The retailer isn't reading the mood of the parents out there." NO $**T! Thank you, Captain Obvious! Common sense would tell even quasar-dense people that clothing with offensive, overtly sexual, or downright tacky messages on them is inappropriate for children.

Posted 6 months ago by Vicki #

  28. Like we believe they didn't know they were offensive. I bet they said we'll go with it and see how long we can get away with it. We'll make some money in the mean time. That attitude really annoys me.

    Posted 6 months ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  29. Yup....This is really disgusting. It's hard enough to raise little girls safe in a society that's over flowing with sickos but to encourage a product like this is more than tasteless...it should be criminal. GRRRRRRRRR!!!! =(
