Hi, Have just looked up this site as am about to get a new kitten and needed some advice. Your comments on purring were helpful as I viewed our prospective new kitten on Sunday and I noticed she didnt purr at all during the time I was there seeing her. I was a bit concerned as I have known quite a few cats who were definitely not 'lap cats' and I am really hoping for an affectionate cat. It reassured me that most of you said the amount a cat purrs is very personal to them, and I hope that means it is not necessarily related to how affectionate they can be. Please let me know if I am wrong in this assumption as I am due to collect the kitten on Saturday! Apart from this little worry, she is absolutely gorgeous and my boys and I have already named her Minnie as she has the tiniest of faces! I will let you know how it goes when we bring her home.
