  1. We have just got back from the vet's. I caught Pickle with no trouble at all, but fastening the basket was ... interesting. I had to tie laces and buckle straps with the kitten going ballistic inside the basket. Paws and claws everywhere. Even when it was all safely fastened she was still fighting - long arms emerging from the grill in the front of the basket with claws at the ready. And the language! Just as well I'm not that fluent in angry cat.
Once at the vet's she just submitted with the odd spit and hiss, but no further histrionics.
Back at the house I fished her out of the basket and put her on my lap. She sat there for nearly 10 minutes, letting me stroke her. Once she had recovered sufficiently she jumped down and has been exploring ever since. I thought she would immediately hide, but no. She discovered a few hiding places, or bolt holes, but then she set off to discover her new environment. She has been all over the room, up on the furniture and the window-ledges and generally not at all phased by a much bigger room. She has even eaten her biscuits.
Now Garbo has joined us in the room. Garbo is watching Pickle and grumbling consistently. Both Pickle and Garbo have hissed at each other, but Pickle seems more interested than worried. Garbo is not being aggressive, she isn't trying to chase Pickle, she's just watching and grumbling/growling. When I stroke her she doesn't jump or behave as if she's startled. Now they are just sitting looking at each other.

  4. Pickle, Pickle, Pickle! Is home! Congrats on not getting swiped. Angry kitten is not a language I know either. I can tell it when I hear it though. We need to see pictures.

  5. Garbo is finding it hard enough without the camera. She is grumbling and hissing. Pickle just seems to want to go and meet this other cat. She is really interested and keeps approaching Garbo.

  6. Yeah for Pickle! I hope she and Garbo will be fast friends! Garbo's 'nose' may be a bit out of joint because of her Meowmy bringing home another kitt :) to have to share with.

  7. Wildcat Pickle is home from the vet. That describes Shadz when we have to take her to the vet. It's taken years for her to accept the cat cage but ungraciously accept it. S
