As most of us know, a most beautiful and charming kitten by the name of Negrita was TDK's feature kitten for today.
After some tears and thought, I realized that a prayer circle needs to be started for our beloved cats and kittens. The power of prayer has been substantiated by numerous reputable researchers. PRAYER IS REAL!
For those of us interested in starting this PLEASE submit ideas. It would be nice if we could get a separate section in the forum area for prayers alone if that would be possible. As it is right now prayer requests would get lost in the other posts. Those of us that want to pray for kitties in need would be able to go right to the prayer section. Prayers with visualization also work better so it would be nice if a photo could be placed at Flickr. We could even start our own prayer website in memory of Negrita yet I thought it might be nice if it stayed a part of TDK. I don't know how to start a website if we all decided to do that but perhaps one of you knows how. I have thought of learning website design but don't have the resources for the classes.
I wish we could have had this in place for Negrita as it may have made a difference. Yet it is also possible she was only supposed to be on this side of the bridge for a short time. When something sad or bad happens, I have learned to find a gift in the occurance somehow. I believe Negrita and her Mama would be very happy if via prayer we could help other kitties in need as well as be a support system for their "Moms" and "Dads". I truly believe this would be a wonderful endeavor so lets talk about making it happen and do it.

You have a great heart.
We have a prayer circle. It is called TDK. Someone posts a topic asking for a "white light" for a beloved pet, family member, friend.... Some climb aboard with announcements that they will pray, some post a prayer, some offer practical advise, some inspirational stories of miracles visited on similar situations, some quietly add the request in their heart and do not trumpet participation.

While mostly memorial, the lighting of candles is not limited to the deceased.The idea of posting a picture to link-in is a nice addition.
We were all praying for Negrita and her Meowmy, just as we have held so many others regardless of species in our hearts.

We pray here for each other often. There is a PURR section for us to post in when help is needed. Prayers are unceasing for many here. I agree in the power of collective prayer. As you travel through the threads you can see the prayers gladly given and the power of answered prayers. I will hold Negrita and her family in my prayers as well.

KM - beautiful idea and awesome feedback. I have been a beneficiary of prayers for my human family (and me!) here. I pray for my TDK family daily, morning and night and whenever I see a need. I pray for those who ask and those who don't, for God, Providence, Universe knows everyone's needs. I pray for my furry and non-furry TDK family. Yes, check out "Purrs" and you will see we have a huge circle with an even bigger heart full of never ending prayers. Welcome to our loving family.

I too think maybe mods can add a prayers sub-forum if it's not too much hassle.
Every kitten and their family in need of prayers can count on mine as well, as I'm sending you loving vibes always even though I'm pretty new to the family.
I thought of making a memorial page for Negrita on Catster as I see many kitty profiles from here on there but I'm not sure if memorial pages are allowed.
The Flickr idea for TDK is great too!!! If one is started I'll most def. join, my babies are all posers. -

KK I think you can change the status of Negrita on Catster. I don't know tons about it but look around and see in your profile. Others will probably be a better help than me. I'm sorry your little one didn't make it but she knew love and was given chance. I lit a candle for her and Sweetie Pie and all the babies who have gone to play and wait at the bridge. I'm so glad you are part of this family. I love it here. I love this family and we love you, too!

It is a wonderful thing how much support TDK'ers give one another. Since Negrita's mama would like a sub-section I will investigate this possibility and get back to you all. The posts here are filled with love and concern which is most heartening. Through this experience I learned about the candles which I didn't know anything about. Love and blessings to you all. Kittenkat know we are here for you. This had to be a tearful day for you. Again I applaud you for all the love and care you gave Negrita. She is among all our other "babies" that have left for the light so she has good company.

Kittenkat I just wrote two letters to Kittenmaster about starting a separate area for prayers and distant healing. One letter was put in the general discussion area and I sent another for requesting a kitten's picture to be uploaded. I couldn't find any other way to contact kittenmaster so at least one if not both of these posts will reach her (or him). I also requested that Negrita's name be a part of the section since she was the inspiration for this idea that I hope can be created. Lets cross our fingers and say a prayer too. Take care my dear!

Thank you for the sweet words and welcoming heart! I'd love to see the prayer forum started for so many reasons. The power of prayer has been substantiated time and time again. It would greatly help a kitty and provide a warm environment for their "mom" or "dad". I also am a certified Reiki Master and distant healing has shown very positive results. Perhaps there are other Reiki or similar energy type masters that could help as well. The more the merrier.
It would also provide a means for me to help animals. I am a disabled veteran and had wanted to become a certified veterinary technician yet my back and inability to stand for long duration convinced me that as much as I wanted to do that that it wasn't wise. Things work out the way they do for a reason however. If we can have a prayers forum it would be an outlet for that desire to help animals (cats most of all, I have two inside cats and take care of two outside strays) and others to help their TDK family. Take care and it is surely a pleasure to be part of TDK!=^..^=
