Marsha, my deepest sympathies with you and mom! Wow, no matter how old we are it is never easy to lose a parent. Dad will be gone 10 years in April but it still doesn't seem right. During this difficult time allow yourself to grieve and cry and just be with your mom. Let any/all of us know if you need anything. (((BC, MOM, DAD)))

Marsha, I'm just now finding this. I am so sorry to learn of your father's passing, but so thankful that it was peaceful and that you were there with him. I can only imagine how very proud your parents are of you. You have been a constant source of strength to them.
This is never easy, not even when it is expected. Take time to grieve but then let your tears dry and rejoice in the love that you and your father have shared. And love never dies.

You have my sympathies, Buttercup. Even when death is expected and accepted, it's still very hard to cope with. Let yourself grieve as much as you need to. In time, the warm and happy memories will cover the pain you feel now.

Deepest sympathies Marsha. I hope you find the love and support you need right now from friends and family around you. My dad died almost 8 years ago, but I remember it all like yesterday. And I grieved for him for a long time. Like Mollycat says, it doesn't matter how old your parent is, nor how expected the passing is, nor the fact that it was a relief in some way - it's still a huge impact, and we're thinking of you.
