    You light a candle for many reasons, not just for the final passing. It's called a Blessing Candle and you can light one to offer strength, sympathy, thankfulness, etc. You can write a little poem or prayer to go with it.

    M2M, that's exactly why I asked if we could do it. Your first post in this thread said he would leave within the next 48 hours, and that's how long the candles stay lit.
