  5. George certainly does have a view! Oh Dear, MCW is picking up quite the sunburn there. Maybe I should bring some sunscreen to Chicago for her. I hope she gets a chance to spend some time on the Lakefront while she is there.

  21. Hi all :) Can I just say that MCW isn't the only one with a sunburn today? Owie. Mr. K took the last of our sunscreen to the tennis court with him.

I am SO TIRED, and now I'm at work - bleah. Georgie was sleeping on the pulled-out futon when I left - good thing MCW doesn't mind cat hair.

Thanks for getting the pictures up, Dorie. I'll post mine or send them to KW to put on the main site as soon as my brain is working again. Did I mention I'm tired?

  24. Wow! What great pics! What great weather! What great friends! What else could you ask for?

Kilroy--were you living in NY at the time of 9/11? It's truly a great city!

Hope you all have a great time and, MCW, will see you on Tuesday!

  25. Morning!!!!!

Yes, I have sunburn. And you know what the really stupid thing is? I have sunscreen!!! I just didn't THINK because I was walking around, there was a breeze...doh!! And I know Mr MCW is going to give me a hard time, bcause I always nag him about sunscreen when he goes to football...blah!!! Distance makes little difference to a good nagging... ;o)

Had a great time at the meet last night, so nce to meet Lyn (great sense of humour) and Dorie (just plain great) - we had a really good laugh, and the pudding was good too :o)

Weather is glorious out on the Island (see, I'm learning the language!!)today, and I'm really looking forward to the Discovery Cruise later this morning, and chilling out this afternoon. Just need to watch the sunburn!!

Hi Mr MCW! Love you! Please don't nag me for more than a year about the sunscreen!!!

  26. MCM,

Yes, I've lived here since 1997 and I was at work on September 11th. MCW and I went down to Ground Zero and went into the tribute center/museum there; I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I started to cry and had to leave. It's still just too much (sorry again, MCW).

Posted 2 years ago by Kilroy #

  27. I know there are millions of stories of that day--I'd love to hear yours.
And don't be embarrassed to cry--it's only human.

  28. There is no need to apologise Kilroy, it was VERY intense, and it was getting to me too. We saw most of the place, and I was glad (wrong word? honoured?) to have been able to go to the site and pay my respects.

I should update if this is the Grand Tour thread, we also walked over Brooklyn Bridge yesterday, ate wonderful pizza down bythe waterside and had a good old stomp around. Hence the sunburn!! And the tennis the night before was a fantastic experience (sorry GD, hope you're not too jealous!).

And remember the hoodie Chris mentioned? Well Dorie came up with the great idea of getting everyone to sign it - so she, Lyn & Kilroy have made a start, and I'll bring it to each meet for the rest of you. I won't be wearing it though - waaaaaay too warm!!

Posted 2 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  29. What a marvelous idea about the signed hoodie, a great keepsake of your TDK tour. Wish I could be at one of the meets too, but love hearing about it secondhand!
