  1. Hi, it looks like you all had a great time and the pics are great! I would have loved to be there, but it is not me in the pictures!!! Could you please identify the lovely lady who has my name in the caption, but not my face!!!

Glad you all got to meet.

  2. Lynn, that's Mary Lynn from VA in the photos. She goes by Lynn; I know, it's confusing!

  5. It's funny, when Mary Lynn first e-mailed me that she would be able to make the meetup, I thought it was Lynn from PA; it wasn't until I looked at her e-mail address that I realized who I was e-mailing with! :) (sorry, MLVA!).

Chris, I'm glad you liked the photos and that you can show them to Jenny's mum. She'll be getting a postcard from here as well.

  6. When I first joined TDK I realized we already had Lynn, so that is why I used my full name that I never go by!

  7. Not a problem, Mary Lynn, and Kilroy it's ok, I thought it was so cute and funny. May have caused a bit of a thing with people who have met me! So MaryLynn, so nice to see your face and hope you all had a wonderful time. See you soon!

  8. Yeah, I got the name wrong too! My apologies to both of you :o)

Had a good trip to Chicago this morning/afternoon, despite nearly missing my stop at Newark Airport because I was chatting to some people on the train about the trip! - but all was OK, and a smooth transfer made. My thanks to ther Kilroys for getting me to the train! Andy duly picked me up this side, and we've had a bit of a look round the Windy City (lovely cool, pleasant breeze - am discovering new levels of sweating over here, God help me when I get to Austin!!), then he went to a mate's BBQ, and I went to meet MC & Kykat (& Mr Kykat) - see the other thread for pictures!! Texted Mr MCW to tell him that Kykat had brought him some Dum Dums, even though it was quite late UK time - text came straight back, thought the phone was going to spontaneously combust in excitement!!!)

Chicago meet proper tomorrow, and then some sightseeing. Time now to hit the hay!

    Night Mr MCW! Love you!

  9. Oh, dear, I hope I haven't oversold Austin! After those photos of NYC, suddenly the "heart of Texas" seems a little dreary. I had forgotten how amazing New York is...

  11. Ohmigosh, loved all these pix too! Dorie, is THAT Long Island? It looks beautiful! I thought Long Island would be just like Manhattan, except with smaller skyscrapers... (Alas, I've never been to NY but I gotta get there one day...) And Kilroy, see what you mean about the nosebleed seats, but the view looks surprisingly good from up there. Boy, I would be having vertigo though... Looks like you're having a wonderful time, MCW :)

  12. LOL, MCW - you don't even know the meaning of "sweat" yet!!!!

Lisa, don't you worry -it's Texas and she'll love it!

  14. WWM...does it get hotter in Texas than it does in California? :)

just a note...I'm not near the coastline line SMM,so I don't get the ocean breezes like she does. :)

  15. Oh what beautiful pictures! Everyone is having a wonderful time. MCW I am so happy you have come and are able to meet so many TDK friends! Kilroy you have one of the most amazing view of the city!

  16. Feral, it gets pretty hot! And the wind blows almost constantly in West Texas. It's like living in a hair dryer. We've had so many 100+ days here this summer but the last couple of days haven't been in the triple digits. The thing is that in West Texas it's dry. But in Austin and central Texas, it's very humid.

  17. Remind me to pack the Shamwows!

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  18. LOL, SM! Now would those be for the sweat or for the tears?

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  19. ONE FOR EACH!!! See every once in awhile I do have a good idea!

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  20. Shamwows...hahaha...you guys are funny. I guess if I lived in Texas,I'd just have to have me a kitty/kiddy pool set up to lay in all day. I might actually get a nice tan going at the same time.

By the time MCW gets thru w/her adventures, she'll have a tan to last her a lifetime. :)

  21. Ladies, I live in Central Texas and it is hot and humid. Humid does not quite cover it....let me say STICKY. MCW is going to melt. We had a lovely day today, it was only 95 degrees. I guess that is hot for some of you. My car's thermometer Friday after work read 104 degrees at 5 pm. Hummmmmmmmm yes it is hot here. WWM has the blowdryer we have the steam iron! Ya gotta love Texas. That is why we are so hardy!

  22. Hey ya'll! There are MANY pix from the Chicago meet on the Chicago thread. Thought it would make things less complicated. I am trying to go back and write names with the pix, I think I figured out how to do that! LOL I am not too tech savvy, trust me!

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  26. Hi Chris! How are the kitties doing?

We know you miss MCW, but I promise, we'll send her back to you safe and sound (if somewhat sunburnt).

Thank you again for this wonderful gift.

Posted 2 years ago by Kilroy #

  27. Hi all

Thanks for looking after her in NY, Kilroy. My workmates are all very jealous when I tell them that MCW spent her first evening in the US at Flushing Meadow watching Roger Federer!!

Kits are all fine - well, two of them are, Button is having an evening out, so I haven't seen her yet! I'm sure she will be fine, depends what time she turns up!

Having a week's worth of football to make up for not having Jen here (or as Jen would say "Oh yeah, right, you're going out to games because I'm not here to tell you not to!!") :) :)
