My cat won't touch the dry food anymore, they only eat wet food and attack it instantly i lay it down but the dry never goes down! Is that ok?

yes, in fact i have to say they are very smart cats you have!!! dry food is bad for cats, some people will go so far as to call it death kibbles which i think is probably true.
what wet food are you feeding? do you need something cheaper; if they would touch it raw is cheap and is the best food. if you want more info on raw ask :)

Wellness is a great wet food. I've only ever used it for Milo because it is low enough in phosphorus for his CRF. Actually he and mikey share it a lot. All my farm cats are on raw (by which i mean raw meat and i use the frankenprey style of doing it). They have never gotten wellness canned...its to expensive to feed to 20 cats lol!

dry food does nothing for their teeth. wet food is a bit better because it doesn't stick as much. RMB's (raw meaty bones) are the best thing for teeth. All the farm cats have white teeth with no tarter/plaque now that they get food that they have to chew :D

Hi Iliketea!! Welcome to TDK. I love your kitty avatar..what a cutiepie! I think you'll find a vast array of diets in place here on TDK and for the most part we all find what works best for our own in the end. What works for one doesn't necessarily work for all others. I feed my 4, dry and wet food everyday. Purina Cat Chow (complete formula) and Fancy Feast canned. We all love and adore our kitties and do the best we can depending on what we can afford. =)

I agree; I know many kitties who were fed dry food and lived to be up to 15 years old as well as many kitties who were fed wet food and lived to be equally old. Personally, one of my cats is on dry (Iams) and the other is on wet (a prescription diet, but made by the people who make science diet). As long as your kitties are eating some type of food, it should be fine. I would not force a type of food they do not like. If you worry about their teeth, brushing the teeth once or twice a week greatly reduces plaque and they should be just fine. :)

I started putthing dry food inside the wet and Sophie is eating it. Slowly i am putting more and more dry food in with the wet! Might just have to do thsi forever..I am spoiling her! She doesn't touch the dry i leave out during the day when I am out at work though! Just when its mashed into the wet in the mornings and night when I come home!
