Morning, LK, have some nice virtual breakfast to ease the transition...
CM, tell MCW you didn't order any English weather, she must have brought it with her, lol!
Hugs will be distributed! I don't want her to go!! Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...or at least I want to go with her..lol
She is the first and only TDK'er to meet Maddie and Abbie...she was excited about that. Maddie so loved her. When we were packing Maddie into the car, she wanted Jen to come and say bye to her and Maddie gave her a big hug and a kiss. She so loved Jen...

CM, I am doing well, thank you! Yes, I had a very busy time with my family and am just catching up on my work. Hopefully, as things smooth out into the work routine, I'll be able to keep up better with posting.
I am so glad you and Jen have had a fantastic time and even little Maddie was excited, too.

Morning everyone! Back to work and school. Yesterday Mike and I ended up playing Scrabble in the park which was really fun and relaxing. I have a quiz today during my class at 2. I have to name all the main hormone producing organs in the endocrine system (Pineal gland, Pituitary gland, Thyroid gland, Thymus, Adrenal gland, Pancreas, Ovaries, Testes, Parathyroid, Stomach, Gastrointestinal tract, Liver, Kidney, Placenta, etc etc etc) and name EVERY HORMONE PRODUCED IN EVERY ONE! Ahhhhh. Some of the organs have 5 or 6!!! Luckily though it is a matching quiz and not a fill in the blank so I only have to recognize them at this point and not know them letter for letter.
Thank you, George is purring on my lap. Nice relaxing feeling. I am looking into meeting with Jen on the 15th.

Good luck, Gini! Yikes. I can tell you that the parathyroid produces calcium. I know this because when Jerrie had his thyroid surgery he lost two of the parathyroid glands and therefore was not producing calcium for awhile. This led to the general hilarity of having to give Tums to the world's worst pill taker. What fun that was!
Gini, you will do great! I remember in grad school when I had to get up in front of a panel of 12 physicians (at least half were neurosurgeons) as well as about 50 other people and they could ask me ANYTHING about SLP school! And believe me they did! I had to trace a nerve impulse from grabbing keys off the table until you started a car. That included all reflex arcs, muscle firing, visual pathways, etc! AH! I do NOT miss that! LOL

I had to hit the ground running today and try to sneak in some surfing to try and find a replacement camera. Since I missed breakfast how about a big BLT and a tea for lunch!

Hi all! I'm having a great day :) My car is not :(
I discovered this morning that my car battery was dead - completely dead. I called XBF who couldn't help as he was at the office already (it's about a 40 minute drive). I told him that was okay, and for him to tell my bosses that I couldn't make it in today. XBF recommended I go see the mechanic at Tire Kingdom who helped me last time and see if he could send someone to jump start my car so I could go over there and get a new battery.
It was about 7:40 and I once I remembered my team had tennis practice at 8:30, I called Auntie Ellen for a ride to tennis. This was the first practice at my new club and it was awesome!! I'm totally excited about playing there this season now, so I really have to figure out a way to fit it into my schedule.
I called XBF and told him I had asked the mechanic about sending someone and he had said they couldn't do that, so XBF stopped by on his lunch break. He jump stated my car and I got it to the mechanic. He just called me now and told me it's ready.
XBF mentioned that I don't work for him and that I need to communicate directly with the boss up there if I can't come in. He seemed to be in a rotten mood.
I'm just happy I got the mornign off an got to play and watch tennis. I may talk to EBL this afternoon and see ifthe morning shift is still available and I can take that and quit the new job. Not sure, just a thought....
Greetings all. It's definitely a Monday/Tuesday. Work is just not going well today. Guess that happens after a few days away.
GD - not so sure about the new job any more?? I thought you were doing so well, and enjoying it?
Been a hoot following MCWs adventures across the US. Anxiously awaiting more info on the CA meet up. I know when and where we are meeting, just curious if there are other activities planned !
I agree, 2P. We need to find something to do between our arrival in Irvine and the meetup the next day. Anyone have any ideas? :)

Hi 2p. I am doing pretty well at the new job, but it's SO boring! Also, when I started there, they emphazised that we weren't in competition with eachother for appointments - that they'd rather we set one good appointment a week than 3 a day that were no good. Well, now they're keeping track of our appointments and throwing in bonuses if we meet certain goals, etc. I hate that kind of thing - it makes me stressed and anxious and it creates a work environment I don't like working in.
Maybe I should have called the boss today, but it makes me mad that it sounds like they had an issue with me not coming in today. This is not the kind of job where it really matters if I come in or not. I don't get paid for the day and since I just sit and make phone calls all day, there's no need to jump through hoops to try and make it in. Plus, I've done a heck of a job for them, and shouldn't have to put up with them getting all mad about me missing work.
XBF just called to see if I got the battery and mentioned that I should call the boss up there and tell him I've taken care of my car problem and will be back tomorrow. I'm not going to call him - I'm enjoying the rest of my day off!
Last time I had car issues and didn't get in, I let XBF know to tell the boss and it wasn't an issue at all.
From what I've heard from everyone, this kind of job is always about competition, and with my general anxiety, that's just not the right work environment for me.
Maybe part of it was going to team practice today and having such a great time and realizing how I'd missed it. I realized that making money does not make up for not having a life and not having time for fun every now and then.
I got the new battery - cost me $110 which wasn't great, but at least it wasn't anything worse than a battery and I fit in a lot of tennis.
Thanks, 2p! Yep, the rules have definitely changed there the last few weeks. ne boss was out most of last week and the otehr one kept coming out and telling us it was "too quiet", that we weren't makin enough phone calls. Part of the job is research, but at this point, they pretty much want us to do "homework" and come in with call lists ready to go. I don't have time to do research when not at work.
I'm not even making that much, 2p - it's mostly commission. Now they're saying we won't get paid the commissions til January! The one appointment set that paid off, already sent in their check - I don't see why i should wait til January. The others told me they hadn't heard that we had to wait that long - we'll see what happens when they're told that to their faces.
If I could get paid for the one I set and the couple I'm pretty sure will wrk out and not wait til January, I'd be more ready to quit.
Okay, I'm off to the gym - done ranting for now. Thanks for listening, 2p :)
Hello anyone there? GD, sorry you are having a crappy day. Hang in there!

I do get an hourly wage at the new job, but everyone's there to make to commission off the deals we set up. I think I'll ask the others tomorrow if they've heard anything. It's not worth it if I have to wait that long.
Hi MC - my day was alright, actually, except for the work-thing. Played awesome tennis today. It was the first time I went to practice all summer and the first time the new coaches watched me hit - I think I made an impression! I hit the ball a lot harder than the other ladies and the one coach didn't see that coming - I hit him with all three of the first three balls he fed me :)
Good evening each!
Please send me a large glass of white wine. It had better be German considering my current location. But please try to find a dryish one - Franken wine would be good.
