  1. Okay random question and I know personality of the cat or kitten matters more than what breed they are or how they look for that matter, but just for fun, I though I would make this post. Because obviously we are all cat lovers here.

    I will just start :)

I love a lot of breeds of cats. None I can say I dislike, But I prefer cats with tabby patterns and that are fluffy, One cat that has both these qualities is the Norwegian Forest Cat. Apparently personality wise these cats are very playing, intelligent and love the outdoors. But mixed breed cats are still extremely awesome, And I would always love a mixed breed kitten. :)

But as I said I don't dislike any breeds so I can adopt any kitten, So long as they touch my heart :)

  2. My favorite breed is the Bengal. They have the looks of the wild Asian leopard cat but the demeanor of a good old house cat.

I have 2 boys they are 4 moths now,but I have had them since they were about 2 weeks old. I fostered the litter of 4 and every day they showed me or would tell me something new! They don't just meow, they trill, they chat, they really have a full vocabulary to communicate with each other and to their human ( me ) Another pro for this breed is that they like water. Imagine my surprise when I wake up from a nice relaxing soak in the tub to have Tommy Tiger siting on my stomach smacking at the water and talking up a storm !! He loves warm water !! First in line at bath time !!
This breed is bigger than most dogs these days and I love that! Once you get to pet a Bengal you will never forget it, their fur has what is called glitter to it and it is the softest fur you will ever rub your face in.

on a last note a trivial one if I may - they like to play fetch !!

meow, I need to go find me some kittens to snuggle !

  3. I don't think there's a favorite breed, but I have learned about various breeds by owning them. I've had several mixed breeds on the farm when I grew up and they were all such wonderful cats. I've owned a Tonkinese and a Ragdoll mix. And now I have a domestic medium hair and a Russian Blue Manx mix. I don't think I have enough time in my lifetime to own all the breeds I see that I would like to know about and have.

  4. I am a bit biased; Jiggs had a wonderful purrsonality. He was a Maine Coon.
He was playful, loved to cozy with me, and he was the ultimate gentle giant. He had a regal presence about him; he was a beautiful cat.

  5. Maine Coons for me too. I love the big lugs. I have one (Nibs) who has many of the coonie traits. She was a stray, so of course there is no way of knowing. I call her my designer knockoff.

  6. Hehe, I guess Jiggs was a designer knockoff too! He didn't have any papers, but when we went to a cat show shortly after we rescued him from a cramped place full of kittens, we learned he had all the distinguishing characteristics of a Maine Coon. They are known for picking 1 human to be their person(al servant!). I am honored he chose me.

  7. Since I currently have AND have shown Balinese, they are and will be my favorites, but when it comes to individuals, I seem to have no biases. Some are wonderful, loving and some are standoffish, but all are individual and unique and totally enjoyable.

  8. I love Manx kitties! now I only have one but I love manx babies! Their little tail-less selves are too cute!!!

    EDIT
my manx baby girl has half a tail. her mamy had a tiny nubbin and daddu was unknown but all her siblings had tails! I got the pick of the litter!

  9. I don't even know what Sophie is...if you click on my picture it will take you to my catster profile she is a mix of tabby, orange and maybe a bengal?! She has the softest fur you have ever touched! And so well mannered and loving.

In terms of my fav breed, I have always loved the way Bengals look, as well as Siamese...I love their colouring :)

  10. No favorite. I've mainly had strays...except for Sushi, my Siamese-mix from years ago. I guess the total cat including personality/looks is what attracts me to their individuality.

  12. Easy question! Mainecoons though being owned by two doesn't mean I'm biased does it?

Mainecoons bond closely to one perason but have enough love for the entire family!

  13. all breeds. some of mine look like a certain breed (blizzard looks siamese) but i know isn't purebred.

  14. I've had, of course, mixed kitties, and Persian, Siamese, Balinese and finally Himalayan. Each has traits which make them special, but of the 13 I've owned, Sheba is my all-time favorite. I don't think I would care for a Sphinx, even though they are so ugly they are cute, but they are very high-maintenance. They need constant baths because they smell from the oils which stay on their skin instead of being absorbed by fur. They have a lot of digestive issues also.

  15. I've had all kinds/breeds/mixes.... but I'm soooo partial to meezers!......and of those, I prefer the traditional (apple head), ( I don't like the skinny inbred triangular head ones )...... I love the ones that are over a thousand years old, seal point, slight crossed brigh blue eyes, and the most vocal and loving of all (IMHO)!.....

  16. I have never owned a purebred cat. I had a lynx point siamese many years a go she just showed up at the door one day and demanded to be let in....lol she live to be around 18 my best guess.
She was one of a kind personallity. Then there was my rocky, maine coon knock off I have never owned a cat with his temperment and personallity I think breed has alot to do with it but they each have there own characteristics

  17. Honestly my favorites are the "mutts", no real breed just a cat from the farm. That is what we had growing up and that is what my girls are now. IF I had children, definitely would go with Maine Coon. My Maine Coon who I rescued from the shelter for $40.00 is truly a "gentle giant" and would be great with kids.
