I think this is wonderful. I love the acceptance shown by the writer, and the fact that the kitty is back in a young, strong body, full of mischief and vigour.

There are some sad stories in the comments below too. And one of the links I found comforting and moving is this one, another wonderful story:

I wanted so badly to feel my Lolie when she passed, and I wished she had died at home so she could still be here, but in the first story the cat passed at the vet's and yet she came home. I used to get down on my knees by the closet where Lolita always slept, and try to imagine she was still there, try to hear her purring gently, or feel her soft coat beneath my fingers. But, nothing. She was gone from the house from the moment I brought her to the vet's the night before she died.
I agree with the posters who say that Raven is lucky to have a happy furry ghost.
I fully believe this is true. When in my house in NY, I swore I could see Taja out of the corner of my eye. Of course when I looked, there was nothing. We took her to the vet to be euthanised at 19 when she was in pain all the time. The vet wrapped her body for burial in our backyard next to Shadow. Now when I visit NY I drive by my old house and say "Hi" to them. Someday I'll get up the courage to knock on the owner's door to ask if I can go in the yard to their grave.
