  1. It is now 450 am and I have been up with Wilma since 3am. She has now thrown up 7 times. It is merely a frothy liquid but she has made me change the bed clothes twice, pillow cases three times, scrub the carpet and take the cover off the couch. She doesn't seem sick, she is just laying next to me. Is this something I should be worried about? I don't want to have to take her to the pet ER or it will cost me upwards of $1000 (but I WOULD do it if her life were on the line.....) HELP! Betty is just walking around in circles crying which also worries me........

  2. Is she drinking water at all? Try and keep her hydrated. Poor wee Wilma. Did she and Betty eat the same food last night?

  3. Oh no, poor Wilma! I really don't have any advice, since the only throwing up Georgie's done has been after eating too fast. I hope more folks will be around soon who can offer advice.

  10. Thanks guys! She is still feeling under the weather. She doesn't have that Wilma spunk in her eyes. I am gonna go after a bit and get some baby food and pedilyte. Say some relaxing prayers for Betty, they each go nuts when something is wrong with the other.

  13. I am sorry to hear Wilma is unwell. Could she have a hairball she is trying to get up and she is unable hence the liquidy vomit? Prayers that Wilma will take it easy today and be able to shake this off with some tender loving care from you MC. Prayers of strength and peace to you as well.

  14. I agree with SM. When Feeny has a hairball he'll often throw up liquid foam a few times before he finally gets the hairball up. I hope everything is okay :( Update us when you can. Hugs

  15. MC, if you think it might be a hairball, a teaspoon of vegetable oil added to her food might help her to get it out...

  16. Oh dear Jcat Teaser heard you and coughed! She is either having sympathy or wants oil. MC will you be able to nap with the girls today--you have had a really long night and remember you are regaining strength as well.

Posted 2 months ago by SoxsMom #

  17. Oh, dear, Teaser, no, please don't throw up... one little invalid is enough!

  18. sorry that wilma is sick!!! hopefully it is just a hairball! if she is doing a sort of cough when hse tries to throw up it could be a hairball. I have a cat with a hairball problem and we give him special treats that help. many contain mineral oil that helps break down the hairball, and laxatives that help the cat pass it. (hairballs can also cause constipation this may be why wilma did'nt eat last night)

  19. try pounce hairball treat-ment. if you can't find that at your local pet store most other hairball remedy treats are reliable too.

  20. Mollycat, I've noticed that whenever one of mine has the foamy spitup, it means they are not eliminating something. First was Max when he had his UTI problems. Then Molly, when she had the blockage in her tummy from eating things she shouldn't have eaten. And now when Max does it, it's from constipation. Don't let it go on, please, because that's how I lost Molly. It's worth the trip to the vet.

  21. Wilma just threw up again. Now she is laying on my lap and looking up at me while I type. I am gonna run out soon and get some baby food and pedialyte for her. I have to pick up rx.

  22. MC...I use the hairball remedies...the ones in the tube you dab a glob on their paw & they lick it off. They work really well. You might try that before you try feeding her anything else. If she has blockage from a furball, she won't be able to swallow anything you give her anyways. I hope Wilma can spit up that fur & the 3 of you can resume back to life as usual. And you can get some needed rest.

  23. Could she have eaten something like a toy or rubberband or anything that could block her? She is continuing to throw up and yet I can't imagine after 7 times having anything left to throw up when you aren't intaking anything. CBM had advice for this once, but I can't find it.

  24. SM, that is my major scare. Wilma has a chewing problem. A few years ago she ate the bottom off my crocs shoes for work. They were able to fill a ziploc snack baggie with all the rubber in her. I am keeping a close eye on her because she was so sick before. Funny thing is, it happened on a Sunday.

  25. I'm sorry to hear Wilma is sick. Leela is worried. She is going to slip thru the wormhole to sit with Betty and give Wilma a gentle hug. She'll be no problem; you won't even know she's there.

  26. Sorry to hear that Wilma is sick. I hope she feels better soon. :)

  27. Poor Wilma. When Mavvy had to have his teeth extracted last year, he had been doing this before. I hope it's nothing serious for sweet Wilma.

  28. Amy, I pray Wilma will be fine!! Sending alot of that healing white light to her, and hugs to you!!!!

  29. I bought a tube of the hairball remedy and am ready to give some to Miss Wilma. Now if she would only come out from under the bed, its seafood flavor!

    Posted 2 months ago by mollycat71 #

  30. Praying that it works for her!
