  1. Ok so a week ago I saw this pretty orange cat that looked like she was a mama. And I pet her and left her alone. Well we've been fixing up the house and my dad found this other calico just like Sweetie pie and an orange one like the mom. They are about the age Sweetie Pie would have been by now. I took them in because my dad already almost stepped on one, and I'm only keeping them until he's done and their eyes were infected with crust and puss. And I cleaned that. Well I came back and the mom was on the houses next to us front porch and she didn't seem to care I had her kittens. I think it's cause they're weining. They're playing and running somewhat. Should I feed them or just put them back when my dad is done?

  2. LCC56, that's a hard one to answer, especially since we don't know how long you're expecting your dad to be -- a couple of hours? a few days? a week? And we don't know how old the kittens are or if they're fully weaned yet. And do you think mama cat belongs to the house next door or is she a stray who just happens to be on their porch?

If they are weaned, and mama has stopped feeding them, then they will need a home (and if Mama doesn't have one, she will need one too). I would see if I could find out if they are wanted and belong to somebody and, if not, I would try to find them good homes or take them to a no-kill shelter. Unless you would like two adorable kittens to keep? If you start feeding them, you will probably find you have two new kittens whether you meant to or not.

  4. Ohmigosh, they're ADORABLE! Well, they definitely need good homes and so does Mama (unless you've found out they belong to someone in your area). And they could well be Sweetie Pie's siblings. If I were you, I don't think I'd be able to let them go...

  5. thank you c; I'd love to keep them. They belong to no one that I know of. And the mama won't come close enough for me to even pet her. The orange one LOVES me. The Calico is just more playful.
