Sunday CAFE 9/13 (my birthday!)

(36 posts)
  1. Not a mile stone one ;)

..... looks like a sleepy Sunday for many, I want a full Scottish breakfast for my Birthday, including fresh smoked salmon, grilled tomatoes, eggs and toast!

..... I'm having a lazy morning, loving just having time unpack and get settled.... the girls and I cuddled all morning, watching a food show, and I kicked Hubby out to go play golf (he needs a break, and I need him out of the way so I can unpack!) LOL

    HOW IS EVERYONE THIS MORNING?

  2. Happy Birthday, AV!!!!
I am here for a short time this morning - it is BRONCO SUNDAY and I need to go fix breakfast and then do some grocery shopping before we can relax and and watch the game. I'll be back after all that.

  7. AV, every birthday is a milestone. The world's oldest living woman (until a few days ago) had 115 of them before she passed away. Happy purrday.

  9. Wow! Two for one! Have a wonderful day, AV and Julia--and many more.
It's a beautiful day here in Michigan, couldn't ask for better. I'd like to have it just like this all year around.

  11. Hope you ladies have a great Purrday! I am excited as NFL season gets underway today, my favorite "season" of the year. I haven't had much sleep as I was up all night with Wilma as she was throwing up. I changed the sheets three times and then ran out! We had to snooze on the couch for about an hour. That killed my neck. Wilma is currently resting on my lap and looking up at me. She looks tired herself.

  12. Good morning/afternoon. Just sent a txt to Airy saying Hi to all at the Socal meet up. I'm not sure of the time they are getting together but it could be around now. I bet they will be having lots of fun, just like the other MCW meet ups.
MC, give Wilma a wee purr and chin scritch from Shadz & me. I hope she 'hacks' up something soon and starts to improve. it is so worrying when your furbabies are off colour. Luckily Shadz has responded very quickly to her medication and the sneezing and gooey eyes have almost completely stopped and the swelling in her throat has subsided judging by the way she is gobbling her food.

  13. I bet those crazy cat peeps are having so much fun. MCW texted me around 1130 my time (3.5 hours ago) and said she was waiting to get on the train to go to the meet. Not sure how far she had to go. If I can ever find Wilma chin scritches she will get. Miss Betty is hanging close to my side and crying. She knows her sister doesn't feel well.

  14. MS, thank goodness that HRH is getting better, scritches to her :)

MC, hey someone has to 'like' football, lol! I do hope that Wilma feels better soon.

  16. Happy birthdy, AV and Julia!

Hope everyone is having a nice day. I can't believe Sunday is almost over! :(
I've had a nice weekend. After work yesterday, I met my friend at Panera for a couple of hours and then went grocery shopping and home for a nap.
After that, I went to GG's house and we went and saw a movie and then had a drink at a bar in his neighborhood.
When we got back to hisplace, we looked through a book about Scandinavia that he got at thelibrary. He does some work for our hockey team and is going over for their season opener in a couple of weeks. He decided to go over early to see some of the countries. Anyway, we looked at the book, I tried teaching him some Danish, and he asked me a million questions. It's nice that he's showing a lot of interest in where I come from. I stayed over there and slept in this morning. Spent a lazy day watching tennis on tv - I was very excited Del Potro beat Nadal! Watched some football, too, but the Dolphins were terrible. I didn't leave til four - and had I not really needed to go home and take care of the boys, I probably would still be there :)

  17. GD, I think it's really sweet that he is showing an interest in where you come from and the country that has helped make you who you are. Sounds like a great weekend.

  18. It was, MS! He is a really sweet guy and always wanting to know all kinds of things about me - I figure that's a good sign.
I left there at four and he texted me at 5:15 already :)

  19. Yay GD, things are looking up for you!... GG sounds like a genuinely nice fellow! Hi MS, glad HRH is on the mend!...... Cuddles and Abbs have settled into the new house nicely, they have "claimed" their respective napping spots, and have no problems sharing eating and litter box spaces (altho they cross poop frequently!)..... LOL...... I think Cuddles uses Abby's box to assert her "alpha cat" role, and then Abby uses Cuddles' box for "paybacks"..... oh its a wicked game they play! LOL

  20. Happy birthday to you both.

  21. YAY for you GD! I am happy GG is finally waking up to what a great person you are!

  22. A very Happy Purrday to you, AV and to you, too, Julia!!!!! Wishing you both many more to come :))

  23. To all who come to the cafe, my little Wilma is not doing too good. She is hiding and won't let me near her. When I go in the same room as her she starts to growl/hiss and slide across the floor to get away from me. Please say a prayer for her. I want to take her to the vet tomorrow but she won't let me near her. What are the Flintstones without Wilma?

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  24. That's great they have settled in AV. Meegz and Andrew's cats seems to have made peace of sorts at the moment. They were allowed out on Friday when 'daddy' installed a cat door. Immediately Lucky investigated the area and discovered the neighbours have a sheep, nothing new for Lucky as he has moved from a farm. Ruby was content to just lay in the sunshine on the deck. They have some very climable trees and even a stream at the bottom of the property yet to be investigated. They were on their own Saturday night as the kids were over here moving and clearing up Andrew's flat, they got home and both cats were inside asleep in their respective territories so I'd say the introductions are complete and they are now one family.

  25. Thanks, MC!I was a bit worried he just wanted a drinking buddy in the beginning, but that's not the case at all. He insisted last night that I decide what we would do. I'm horrible at making decisions, and guess he is, too. I had to kick my own butt to come up with something to do, what movie to see, when and where - but I did it and we had a nice time.
We talked about all kinds of things - he was even asking me about Bobby and Mi :)

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  26. (((MC))) (((Wilma))). Poor Wilma girl - do you have any idea what could be wrong with her?

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  27. I am at a loss. I think she got into something she shouldn't have and its making her throw up. Wilma gets into EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING. She eats the baseboards in my house! I just hope she isn't hurting and I am not doing anything for her.

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  28. Oh no! Bobby ate part of a wall once!
Can you get her to drink so she's at least well hydrated til you can get her to the vet?

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  29. GD, glad to see the GG is showing interest in the right things, getting to know you :)

MS, whoo hoo the kits are integrating into one family, that is a good sign.

    MC, hope that Wilma lets you take her to the vet tomorrow, poor baby {{{hugs}}}

And hey to anyone I have missed, mind is still muddled so please take no offense.

Posted 2 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  30. Deb how are you doing really? I understand the muddled with all that is going on, but you had a headache too. Any better at all? I loved the piece that Mrs. McCain did about migraines. I agree with her--there has to be answers. I don't think it is good enough to say that they normally go away after age 60--way to long to hurt so bad!
