Ms.Hissy is HURT!

  1. KW...I just haven't thought that far. I'm so distressed over seeing her condition as of this morning. I'm almost certain this had to be an attack from a racoon(probably the aggressive mama w/her babies that attacked me as well). It seems she also attacked another very important kitty in the neighborhood. Selena...mama to my 2 sister rescues Lacy & Hannah was attacked as well. Not as bad. She lives a few doors down & is cared for by my other neighbor who use to rescue(the gal I made amends with). She's much tamer but typical Siamese b***h. She will be trapping her & taking her to the vets(something she can afford). Hissy is a whole different story in trying to trap. I even have to wait till Hissy leaves the yard before setting the cage up. If she ses me w/it she'll take off & not return to eat. She's smarter than some humans I know.

  4. MCW, this is one group who has much WILLPOWER, maybe if we all send her vibes she will get in the cage!

  5. Thanks you guys. I feel so bad for her. And she knows I'm her caretaker but, she's so Siamese stubborn & has been feral for so long that it's instinct keeping her from getting help. It'll probably take me an hour just to get the cage out. It's in a corner of the room, stuffed w/several pet carriers & covered w/some of my packed belongings. Binky & Hannah will not be amused to lose their favorite napping beds. I'll replace the cage with something to mimic the same look & maybe they'll forgive me. You know how cats hate change in their environment.

MCW...the Cadbury's...mmmmmmmmm...I like yours better than our own...hope that doesn't make me a traitor.

  9. Hi Susie...I'm having trouble signing into my IM and was wondering how Ms. Hissy may be doing this morning. Any news on her?

  10. Thanks for asking Sis. I've only seen her twice in 3.5 days. The last time I did see her she looked alittle less shocky(if that's a word). But she has become as feral as before she was spayed. I don't hold up alot of hope for her health being as good as before she was hurt. I had to stop the biotics. If she starts coming back again,I'll try some more but, don't want to overdo. I'm as afraid for her also from some of the nasty people here that have this idea that poisoning the racoons & possums to get them out from under their homes is an okay thing. I'd like to catch just one of them doing that.

  11. Susie, Ron and I were talking about Hissy last night. He told me that if there are things that you need moved or setup that Mr.Useless won't help with, just make a list and at Thanksgiving he would be happy to help you with. So start your list help is on the way!!

  12. I sure hope she keeps coming around and manages to heal from these injuries. You've done soooo much for her and as feral as she is...you are definitely her only true 'people friend'. What a horror to think people would stoop so low as to poison any animal however big a problem they become. It's the lazy way out and what they end up doing is poisoning all the local pets. I cringe to think that anyone in my neighborhood would do such a thing. Our neighborhood cats tend to play musical feeding stations here and one poisoning could literally take out most of our pets!
Julie...you and Ron are sooooo sweet! I love you guys! =)

  13. My son has these solar things in his yard that are made to drive away gophers. They are small, solar powered and just emmit this quite little beep about every 30-60 seconds, they also seem to keep the away the racoons & possums pretty well. He is suppose to pick up a couple for me soon, I'll see if I can find them online.

  14. Here's the latest...Hissy came home this a.m. With the miracle of TDK Prayers she's managed to avoid anymore attacks. She also stayed within a 3 ft. distance from me,as long as I stayed stooped & filling the food dish. She clearly has been roughed up & she doesn't have that sparkle in her beautiful blue eyes that she once had.Her fur in the areas of injury is starting to grow back, altho she looks like she's moulting like a bird. Her ears are 3X the thickness & her forehead is still red & alittle swollen from the injuries. She's hungry & eating enuf for her,Naughtyboy & Prettygirl combined & leading me to refill the bowls, which is okay w/me. She even drank up all the Catsip as well. I didn't put meds in tho(wish I had).

Julie...Bless you & Ron's heart as well. As for moving things...at this point all I'm trying to do is get rid of everything I own that won't fit in my car. I have to reach a platue of basically being homeless in order to be able to drive away. The pain in my heart & soul of not knowing where the cats will end up is my biggest worry. I can't even be sure my car will hold up for me when that time comes to leave. I simply worried for the animals that have only known me thru-out these yrs.

Continued Prayers are all I can ask for. And strength for myself to not weaken anymore emotionally than I have. It's such a dangerous state of mind to be in.

  15. Just getting caught up on Ms. Hissy. She is one tough cat! Susie, I'm really hoping that something somewhere will open up for your cats so that you don't have to worry about them. At least your hard work paid off in that you don't have new crops of kittens anymore. You've been managing the colony very well, but at a huge cost to you. Do at least keep checking with the shelters; you never know when something might open up.

  19. With all that's uncertain in these days and times I'll say this for certain....There's incredible power in the loving, heartfelt prayers that come out of this TDK family. I feel like there's little we can't do, change, improve as long as we all stick together with like minds and strong hearts. Hang in there Susie. Julie's right...you're incredibly strong! *for an old fart* *just kidding...love you sis*
