Had a great time meeting everyone at the TDK SoCal meetup this weekend! It was so much fun sharing a room with KW and 2Popoki (we had a lovely time together) and then meeting up with the rest of the group at the California Pizza Kitchen. We had a very nice and cute waiter who was wearing a name tag of Ian but his name he said was really James. He was very good with all of us and the service was pretty good. I tasted 2BP's apple martini and they are yummy and deadly! I assume I could get pretty toasted on them. Everyone was so wonderful and the food was good. In the picture with Bobby and the tall sundae is my hand as that dessert was what I had. I ate about 1/4 of it as it was too much (made sure to eat all the chocolate fudge sauce with some ice cream).
Thanks to CBM, some of us were picked up and taken to the restaurant and then later on, Linda and MCW were taken to the train and myself and 2Popoki were taken to the airport. I had a lovely chat with 2Popoki while waiting for our flights to be called. Mine was delayed 25 minutes but we got off okay. When I got home, I took a taxi and the taxi driver drove too fast around one at the first left turn out of the airport and we hydroplaned (it was lightly raining when I got to the airport). We did a 360 and ended up facing the wrong way on the road. Thank God there wasn't any cars nearby and when we got going again, I said a prayer to the Blessed Mother to get me home safely. When we were just a block from my house, we almost start hydroplaning again as he hit the accelerator too hard after we had stopped at a stop sign. I didn't give the guy a tip and I almost jumped out of the cab when he got to my apartment building. OMG!!
So it was a very fun and eventful trip. I am so glad I got to meet all who came. Thank you for taking time out of you busy lives to meet-up. I really appreciate MCW taking the time to come over the pond and a very special thanks to Chris for giving her this trip for her birthday. Hugs to you all.
2BP, I hope Ron is doing better (I think you mentioned he had some sort of surgery a couple of days before the meetup). Chris, I know of Swindon (due to a job where I had to send over an HR person to do some hiring in the Wooten Bassett office).

So...there we were at the train station in good time for the 5.11 train, and then the voice comes over the PA...they've only gone and cancelled the bloody train!!!!!!! The next one was due in an hour, so it wasn't too bad and Linda and I spend passed the time very quickly talking about films and TV shows!! Got back to the hotel in San Diego absolutely ker-knackered, but still stayed up talking quite late, and watching TV.
Thanks SO MUCH to everyone who came to the So Cal meet, and of course to Linda for organising it, TL for collecting us from the station in Irvine, CBM for all the ferrying about she did and God for FINALLY letting me see some sunshine - it's been a long time since New York & Chicago!! I see Texas is still getting rained on...as long as it stays there (or at least doesn't come here til I'm heading off again!)
I have a message for George from Linda - "THE ANSWER IS yes!!"
(George proposed via picture...another TDK wedding!!)
(You should know if you don't already that George is Mini KK's stuffed monkey)
(That's what I call a mixed marriage!! ;o) )
Linda is sat here by the side of me, we're in the business centre (they spell it wrong here,, ha ha) and the clock is ticking, so we won't be on very long - today I get to (try - they're shy) and meet Linda's furries, then we have some shopping and paddling in the Pacific on the agenda. First up though is brunch - not eaten anything since yesterday's meet, so just about ready to now!

My kitties and I were spoiled by all the goodies..Chocolate (I will not share this with furbabies and they are upset about that) and the toys, well lets just say I'm going to have to move some furniture to get one of them out and Blackbeard put the other in his toy box aka pirate ship and won't let the other kitties near it. My house key now has a get kitty face so I never have to stumble again to figure out which key to open the door. Thank you everyone for such a wonderful time.
Oh and Congrat's Linda and George, even though it is a mixed marriage I'm sure that you will be very happy!!! LOL Did someone get a picture of the proposal so it can be posted??

Absolutely Love the pics. I finally can put a face to some very,very special people. And it was great to see some familiar faces in the bunch as well. I'm sorry I couldn't be there. But I have cried off & on since yesterday...when I recieved a heartwarming phone call from the bunch of you. You have no idea how much it meant to me that you thought of me in all your fun! I Love You All!!
