Well guys I got back to lubbock tonight alittle after 9pm. I have unpacked the car and gotten everything inside. I've spent the week in Austin and I have to say this has been one of the more eventful weeks I have spent there. The chihuahua decided to attack my mom's rottie mix and got bitten for her efforts(thankfully Sata missed the eye) but that didnt deter Sweets, she kept trying the whole week. She is fine and fiesty as ever. Then Thur a guy came to put some new gutters for a rain barrell on the back of the house and left the gate open. Since it was raining my mom's dog never left and came back in since she is scared of rain. My dogs on the other hand went for an adventure (well Tita, Meimei and Sweets did) My mom found Sweets pretty quick and Meimei came home at about 3am, Tita however stayed on the lamb. Fri I drove around the neighborhood till SM called me and I went to pick them up at the airport. We had fun finding the hotel cause there are 5 marriots in a row at that area. We then hung around till my mom called tht she was home from work and went to pick her up.. SM got to meet the Dan cat who even let her touch him before he decided to be standoffish. We then went and had ice cream at Amy's and waited for everyone else to arrive and went back to the hotel to meet everyone and then go to the meetup. Which was so much fun.
Saturday I got up super early and my mom and I went to the pound only to find out it didnt open for another 3 hours so we went and had breakfast and then to petco. At petco I found the coolest toy for the cats, ITs a lazer pointer that makes its own patterns and runs for 15 min. (the cats are loving it BTW, I have it on a shelf in the hallway and they are going crazy chasing the red dot) I also found some outfits for sweets on clearance for 1.99 each and a bunch of doggy toys on clearance. We then went back to the pound and searched for a good 30 min before we found Tita. She was in cage 375, still had her collar and rabbies tags on, but for whatever reason the numbers in Lubbock arent working right and are registering as not valid (great, right) and they didnt call the vets office on the tags to let them know that they had her, cause my vet would have called me right away to find out what was going on. So anyway, we went through the whole is she spayed does she have her rabbies shot etc. I tell them yes to both and then they called my vet and Tita's rabbies shot was due that Fri. I do know that I should have done it before I left lubbock but that week was hectic. So they gave her the rabbies vaccine and microchipped her and charged me $50 which my mom paid and I told her she needs to call the gutter company and make them reimbure her for the cost since thier person left the gate open, but I bet she won't. Tita nearly yanked the lady bringing her in off her feet when she saw me. She got me covered in mud and kisses and didnt leave my side till we got home to Lubbock. I am happy to be home, but so dont want to go back to work tomorrow

Poor Tita! That must have been a very happy reunion when she saw you at the pound. :)
I'm so glad you got home safely after all the adventures with the furry family members. What a great meetup in Austin!! :D

It wasa great meet up. Everyone in the room was teary eyed and in awe of Tita's joy of being back with me. I am just glad she was ok and didnt get run over or anything

So Tita had a wandering urge too, too bad that the shelter couldn't read the rabies tag(s) to see that even though they were due by a day or two, c'mon she had them....but then again some people don't consider those things. Glad that she is safe and sound, along with the other wanderers of the family :)

Well wen we got home Sweets ran off for a bit, but with her if you ignore her she comes back in 5=10 min. So I just started unpacking the car and carrying things in. The first time I saw her at the gate she saw me and ran. Then I closed the gate and started putting stuff up and came back out for another load and she was at the gate jumping ready to come in and hasnt run again since.
Also Ruby brought along a hitch hiker from one of the rest stops, a HUGE red wasp. I did manage not to crash when I saw it and ended up going 90mph down the highway with the windows down to get it out.
