  1. Okay, I'm taking this really hard...

The spa staff called and said that Nilla is a boy. *in tears*

  3. Please forgive me AL....hahahaha.....you know Nilla will love you just the same. He's already proved he Loves you. I've never been able to tell the sex of kittens till it was quite obvious. I guess I don't have an eye for that sort of thing. Please don't cry. Did it really matter when you brought Nilla home whether it was a boy or girl? There's a plus to this all...boys aren't as expensive to neuter.

  8. *trying not to laugh*

It's a good thing that you picked a name that can work for either sex. I've found that my boy cats were always much more mellow than the girls, so don't think of it as a bad thing.

  10. Oh dear AL, just wait until you get Nilla back in your arms and bury your nose in his soft fur then you'll be pleased to have him home no matter the gender. I an sex a mouse as quick as but cats have me stumped too.

  11. You could just change one letter and call him Nillo.

  12. Oh AL it's alright heheh. He will be a wonderufl baby boy as he has been and yes t is less costly to fix him. But shhh don't tell Pumpkin but boys tend to be more cuddly and snuggly then girls. They I guess jsut love the attention and caresses while our females fill their time with running the households in top ship shape. And Nilla is still a great name and I am guessing but he already knows it. So why change it!

  13. AL, no worries! The same thing happened to me with my one baby. I treated "him" like a girl for almost two months. You can imagine my shock when the vet called and told me "she" was a "he". None of his boy parts had descended and you couldn't tell what sex the kitten was. Don't worry, they told me it is very common for cats to be mis-sexed. You will still love him just the same as you did when you thought Nilla was a she.

  14. Oh my. Well, he's not really a boy or a girl anymore, is he/she?

You already know you love Nilla's personality so it won't really matter to the relationship. Lots of people find that boy cats (and ex-boy cats) are very loving. I'm sure he isn't going to be less loving now that he knows he was a boy.

Even his name is still okay. You might have wanted to change it if you had named him Mary or Susie, but Nilla Bean is great just as is.

  15. Hey, AL, my family once had a male kitty named Isis (after a female goddess) and a female kitty named Wicket (after what we assume is a male Ewok). Gender confusion happens a lot with kitties (especially when they are young or you can't catch them in order to check -- Isis was a feral boy)!
