TDK white light please

(31 posts)
  1. Hi family,

    I have need of your thoughts and prayers. I've done something to my lower back and I'm in a lot of pain. Missed work yesterday and today. I have no idea what I might have done, but I know I am in a lot of lower back pain.

    Just logged on for a little while here, I'm going to be going back to lie down very soon. Any positive thoughts would be appreciated. 800 mg ibuprofen isn't doing anything ;-(

  3. Prayers on their way! Have you ever tried Alleve? Years ago, when I threw my back out, my doctor gave me samples of Naproxen Sodium. It was the first thing I ever took that actually helped my back. And of course, now you can get it over the counter. It is an anti-inflammatory drug, I think. It also helps my migraines. Get better soon!

  11. Have you considered going to a Chiropractor? Regular adjustments are the only thing that keep me able to get up and walk and it is a drug free way to deal with the root of the problem which is your back being out of place and muscles and nerves being stressed because of it.

  17. Oh, Siobhan, I do feel for you, having had years of back problems. Have you had previous problems? Do you stand a lot or do any lifting? Any recent injuries? Ooops-I sound like a doctor! Anyway, so many things can lead to back problems and seeing a doctor is probably the best thing to do if the pain continues. My sister just called me a couple of weeks ago, almost crying with agonizing pain in her back, too. She said she hadn't done a thing to cause it. Turned out to be a pinched disc, and with rest, she's doing fine now. Hope you are able to work through this, but don't hesitate to see your doctor. (X-rays don't show many back problems, ask for a CT scan or MRI.)

  18. Yes to all the above. I have been seeing a chiropractor since June, first twice a week for 2 weeks then once a week and then once every 2 weeks and now I just graduated to 4 weeks. I had never been to one and was wondering if it was working, and of course it was, it is just that any little pain still hurts. Mine is a pinched nerve too. I take 2 aleve daily along with going to the chiropractor. I can seen an improvement to my shape too. My shoulders are back to being even.

  19. Sio, Prayers and healing thoughts coming your way. I have had 5 knee surgerys and most recently spinal surgery. (I am totally fixed!) My suggestion is try Naproxin it is an over the counter drug. I suggest taking it with food. I can't take it because it makes me sick to my stomach but many others swear by it. Do not remain imobile for too long. Get up every once in a while and walk (carefully) around your house. A hot shower does a great deal of good (if it is a muscle pull). Hope you feel better. White light zooming to you!

  24. Aleve is better---if it bothers your stomach take Prilosec 1/2 hour before. You might need Flexiril to loosen the muscle spasms. It's now in generic so it's a $4 prescription at Walmart.

  25. I'll be checking with my MD this morning. My boss suggested a kidney infection and after checking on the interwebs (lolcatspeak) that might be my problem. Thank you to everyone offering love and support... please don't stop.

    Posted 2 years ago by Siobhan #

  26. Ohmigosh, I was going to ask if you'd ever had kidney stones as my mum has been through a couple of terrible episodes with those. But whether back pain or kidney pain, it is just terrible, I know. I hope the doctor can help and that you feel better soon, Siobhan, sending healing energies to you and many {{{Hugs}}}

  27. Siobhan, I hope the doctor can give you some relief. Having had back pain myself, I know how bad that can be.

    Posted 2 years ago by LadyKat of IA #

  28. Wow, that never occurred to me, but yes...when I had a kidney stone it started as the most terrible backache. So I'm sure an infection would cause back pain, too. We'll keep the prayers coming!!

    Posted 2 years ago by corzak #

  29. I see the doctor at 2:15 today. Fortunately a simple pee test can detect kidney infection, and antibiotics can help. I'm hoping that's what it is, and that I respond quickly. I am supposed to help someone with little experience, prepare a medieval feast for 32 on Saturday and I -really- want to help her in person... Sarah understands back pain, she has an implant for her own back pain.
