  4. Hi JK & CM! No dentist for me - I went last month. Super busy, so what else is new? A decent nights sleep would be great one of these days. However, Leela did stay by me for most of the night, what a sweetie-pie!
Okey-dokey - back to w**k! Have a wonderful day everyone!

  5. HI Jean, CM and Joan! I, too, just went to the dentist, last week! Just got back from my chiro appt., and boy did I ever need it :) She has the magic touch! Sure hope you feel better soon, CM....It is sooooo hard to be a Mom when you aren't feeling well yourself...utterly exhausting! Joan, have you heard the news about JRoc's daughter being transferred to Jersey??? Hope I didn't let the cat out of the bag :) Jean, that cuppa black joe sure looks and smells good :)

  6. Slow day in the cafe today. I think I'll eat very light today. Had tummy troubles yesterday... ooohhhh.. not fun ! I was going to practice/brush up on hulas for a gig this Saturday. That didn't happen. Maybe tonight?!

CM - I remember those days. Add in that I also worked a full time job. Exhaustion was common place. Hope you feel better soon - and get in a good nap today.

  7. Hehe, I heard KH. I heard "the rumour" but let Mom tell me. I'm so excited!

  8. Good morning! So nice to be home again, but what a great time I had in Austin and SoCal. :)

Sorry you tummy was bothering you yesterday, 2P. What is the gig you will be doing on Saturday?

How did Maddie do at the dentist, CM? She is such a big girl!! :)

I'm going to get my eyes examined today. I can't wait to get new lenses for my glasses. The old ones are almost worse than not wearing glasses at all. lol

  9. KW - I think it was lunch that got me. Guess the chili had been in the fridge a little too long. Tasted ok... just didn't hang around very long. lol The gig is manning a Hula Hut at a kids fair out in Glendale. It's not an on-stage performance thing... thankfully. We'll do 2 or 3 dances at the top of the hour and then 'teach' those who want to learn a little; help them make a paper lei, give out information on our halau. I forget who is putting it all together.... it should be fun. This is the gig for which I'm supposed to learn verse 3 & 4 of the hula we started on Thurs. Um... not going to happen. LOL

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  10. I remember now, 2P. Maybe Christie can have you do verses 1 & 2 through twice and skip 3 & 4. The people watching won't know the difference. ;)

Posted 2 years ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  11. LOL not a bad idea, but I'm not ma'a or pa'a with the first 2 verses yet either. It may be the hula I sit out of. Still need to brush up on the others we are scheduled to do.

  12. Good morning all. 2Popoki, sorry for your tummy trouble. CM, that is great the dentist visit was a hit with Maddie. I have always hated the dentist but went every six months when I was growing up. Now of course it is once a year.

I went to bed late again last night (11:15pm) due to going to my step-grandmother's for dinner. I got home around 8:30pm and as I was trying to get in the door Sylvester escaped out into the hallway. I got mad at him for this and told him he was bad. He kind of sulked the rest of the evening. Poor Sylvester. I also didn't give them their daily treats as I fed them their evening wet food and didn't think to give them so soon after feeding them their evening food.

I was woken up by stupid upstairs neighbor in the early morning hours last night and so combined with this and going to bed late, I am feeling exhausted this morning. I need an all expense paid, week long vacation in Hawaii where all I have to do is swimming, walking the beach if I want, eat, sleep and just relax.

Manager continues to keep me out of the loop of things and this morning I just didn't feel motivated to go to work. Knowing that I have bills, need to keep a roof over mine and my cats heads as well as feed us had me going into work. I got into work about 10 minutes late and am wearing black pants and a grey polo to match my mood.

Temps are suppose to be around 75 degrees today. We currently have 78% humidity and that is why it felt so warm even with the temperature at 61 degrees.

  13. ((((Karin)))) sorry you're having a rough day!
    2P - I hope you feel better.

I'm having a nice day. I got up early becaue my team practice was at 8:30. It was a great practice and a good workout. The coaches were impressed with my serve which BF has been working on. I texted him to let him know and he texted me back. I was worried he was upset about me quitting, because he didn't text me back yesterday, but I knew he'd be happy to hear about the serve.
After tennis I met with the head pro and went over some captain stuff.

No I'm hanging out at home and taking it easy. The boys looked surprised to have me walk in the door at 11:15 - that was cute. I had time for a 45 minute phone call with my dad who sounded pretty chipper today compared to last time I spoke to him, so that was great.
I went on Amazon to celebrate my new-found freedom and ordered the new Dan Brown book for myself, so I was excited about that.

What was even better: today Auntie Ellen mentioned that her husband would like me to work for him 4-5 hours a week and make some phone calls and stuff and he'd pay me well. Now I just got off the phone with my Panera friend who told me her husband wants me a few hours a week as well. I've worked for him before and he's a great guy as is Auntie Ellen's husband so that's great!
I was worried about quitting my job, but it's looking like it's all going to work out!
    My friends are awesome :)

  14. GD - thanks... doing better today. Sounds like things are falling in place nicely for you !

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  15. So far so good, 2p! I have a nice network of friends and acquaintances and part of why I hated working so much was that I didn't want to lose touch with everyone. I was worrying quite a bit yesterday about having quit the job, but it's looking like I did the right thing.

    I'm glad you're feeling etter, 2p!

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  16. When/where your health, both physical and mental is concerned, you really need to listen to you. And you did ! Good that you have a wide circle of friends. :)

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  17. Thanks!
    ((((group hug))))

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  18. I'll take that HUG GD !! I don't get those every day.... :)

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  19. Quiting the phone job sounds like it was the right thing to do, GD. Glad it all worked out.

2Popoki, hope you are feeling better today.

It is almost noon and am waiting for this one manager to approve a time card so I can roll up the timecards to payroll. This stupid manager is the type that when I ask for something from him, he either doesn't respond or he takes his time. It only takes 30 seconds to approve the stupid time card! I hate managers who like to play power trips like this.

Posted 2 years ago by SylMiaFelixMomma #

  20. Send him a reminder :) I do that all the time with my manager. And yes, SMM, I'm feeling better - thank you.

    It's 12:30 p.m. here... I don't take lunch for another 1.5 hours. I really just want a nap ! ;)

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  21. I ended walking over to the manager's office and asking to please approve the time card. He acted oblivious and said oh is fixed now. Uh yeah!!! At the grocery store to get my lunch. Lots to work on. When I get back.

Posted 2 years ago by SylMiaFelixMomma #

  22. I just had a nap :)
I was woken by the phone ringing. It was Panera friend's husband calling about me doing work for him. I was too groggy to answer the phone so I'm going to call him back.
I'm getting ready to leave for the gym in 25 minutes. Mi just scratched my hand pretty badly. He was trying to jump on the desk in front of the computer - missed and tried to save himself from falling by hanging onto my hand - ouch!

  23. Have a nice lunch, Karin!

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  24. Morning all - lovely Spring day. Lots of the trees in our town are in blossom as I drive to the railway station and they look so pretty. It's halfway through the week and I'm looking forward to relaxing this weekend and maybe going to the garden centre.
GD - glad things are going well for you. SM - sorry they aren't - hope the jackass manager gets his butt into gear.

  25. One of my work colleagues emails us a quote of the day each day. I thought this one was very good - could have been said by Emma in fact!

“Worry is a futile thing, it's somewhat like a rocking chair. Although it keeps you occupied, it doesn't get you anywhere.”

  26. Love the quote, KK! I just popped in to see what's going on. I was on earlier, but had to leave quickly to do something at work. Won't be long now and I'll be heading home...Yay!

Posted 2 years ago by LadyKat of IA #

  27. Great quote, KK!

Lunch was delicious - roasted chicken, avocado, smoked fontina cheese melted on a toasted foccacia bread with lettuce and tomato along with drinking some mango flavored green iced tea. Yum!

GD, whenever I take a nap, I turn off the phone. Nothing worse than being woken up in the middle of a nice nap. Get some neosporin on that scratch or some hydrogen peroxide. Milo you cannot use Momma as protection from falling. You hurt your poor Momma.

Posted 2 years ago by SylMiaFelixMomma #

  28. Bad Mi. He got scared when he fell and had to get treats :)
I don't have an alarm clock and always use the alarm on my phone, so my phone has to be on. I have lots of interrupted naps, unfortunately.

1.5 hours til I can go home. Yay! I have to type up a team roster for my tennis team, which I don't feel like doing - I'll get it done before I leave, though. Tomorrow I have a round robing with my team, which is never as fun as practice or a match, but at least it's tennis. I may go for tea/coffee or lunch with some of them afterwards. I'll also try to call Panera Friend's hubby and go see him at his office and see what kind of work he has for me.
