Wilma has been admitted to the hospital!

If this vet has the equipment to scope Wilma, I would think that would be the next step--scope her stomach and intestines. It seems odd to me that surgery or discharge are the only options the vet seems to be considering.
If this vet doesn't have the equipment, can Wilma be referred to a vet who does?

i agree with the above... i would hope she has fluids going since she is not drinking or eating.. i think this vet needs more testing on wilma and she needs to stay until she is a safe discharge home.. she is not safe to go home as of yet.. sore tummy , not eating or drinking, i hope she is getting anitbotics... she needs a scope or a CAT scan

Do cats have appendixes and/or gall bladders? Could she have an ulcer? Or did she eat a bug or something that caused a chemical burn so that it hurts to eat?
Since she hasn't eaten for a while, could the vet give her something like barium to see where the problem is?
It has to be so frustrating for the poor vet not to be able to figure out what's the matter with your baby girl. and so worrisome for you. To say nothing about how unhappy poor Wilma is being cooped up in a cage at the nasty old vet's office.

Hi I can't believe Willow and Wilma have almost identical illness. Have you had bloodwork done? Willow had high white cell count.
Also I am not sure if your vet told you but my vet told me that the xray won't necessarily show up all blockages. If Wilma has eaten plastic than apparently plastic doesn't necessarily show up on the xrays. The vet told me only really dense matter will show up in an xray. Also the fact that your cat cries when his stomach is touched does not sound right. As Beth stated some vets can scope a cat. Good luck. I hope Wilma gets better.

More prayers and healing white light for poor Wilma. What an ordeal to go through for Wilma and MC. Poor Betty, I am sure she is wondering where her littermate is. Hugs to you MC. Hope FF is able to help a bit.

They don't let humans come home until they eat and pee. Hope this is the case with Wilma, which means the worst is over.
