  1. hey all!

I'm new here, just joined the other day with an issue over my two baby kitties getting along.

I'm a 22 year old Veterinary Assistant student and am so excited for the program that I'm taking in college.

I have two bundles of fur, one is seven weeks old, and one is eleven weeks old.

Aerienne (aka Aerie) is the newest addition and has only been here for about half a week. she's a white kitten with cream tabby stripes and a dark grey tabby striped tail. Right now her eyes are this bright baby blue colour, but I don't know if they're going to change or not, sometimes it looks like they are and others it looks like they never even offered to change. She looks like a point kitty, but I'm not sure what kind, she's a kitty mutt who followed me home and smelled like an old barn, so I bathed her and absolutely love her and my older kitten Izzy now seems to love her as well.

Isabelle Ebony (aka Izzy) is a brown-black long haired female with soft tan eyes with a bit of green around the pupil. she was the first kitty I got here in my new apartment and she was about 8 weeks old when I first brought her home. she has a very loving personality and enjoys a good cuddle time and she absolutely ADORES her new crinkle bag fish that I got her at wal-mart the other day, it has quickly become one of her favorite toys, the other of which is a blue cat-nip mouse with a rattle in it's tail.

when I first brought Aerie home, Izzy was weary of her and didn't like her at all, but within the past couple of days that's changed and Aerie is now her new best friend. I thought that getting a second kitten would do Izzy some good in the long run as I am a college student and I am in class during the day and they are both indoor kitties so Izzy seemed to be getting a little lonely. I got her a friend, and she loves her new friend, despite the fact that there is still some occasional hissing, but most of the time it's just play and fun.

Well that's a bit about my furry babies and myself!

  3. Hi Mepayne - glad to read that Aerie and Izzy are getting along much better now. It always takes a bit of adjustment. Welcome to TDK also! You've already discovered that there is a wealth of support and information available here.
Your two kittens sound adorable - particularly your description of Aerie. If you click on my screen name you will be able to link to Catster where I have pages for my cats Ringo and Dara. A lot of us here have created pages for our cats. And somewhere, someone has instructions of how to load a photo to create your gravatar.
As I mentioned I have 2 cats - Ringo is almost a year old and I got him in March after our previous tabby, Spike, died suddenly. Dara is a nearly 5 year old Bluepoint Siamese. There were definitely some settling in issues when Ringo moved in. But now they chase each other around and there's not too much hissing.
I'm one of three TDKers in New Zealand - Moonshadow (who is my sister) and JCat are the other two. And my niece Airy (Moonshadow's daughter)is another Kiwi who is currently living in California.
So welcome to TDK. You might see threads posted with Nightshift (NS) or Cafe in the title - these are general threads where people chat on a variety of subjects - feel free to join in!

I am owned by one domestic short hair black dappled Torti, she has almost no ginger on her. I'm glad your two are settling in together now.

  9. heehee, Aerie's grin isn't a show! she's evil incarnated :P she's a bully to Izzy, my other gorgeous baby girl and tends to kick Izzy out of the food dish to get the canned food I give them. there are two food dishes and Aerie eats hers then kicks Izzy out of the other one, so Aerie's an evil little bully but I love her dearly and Izzy is starting to love her as well, they play together and everything, only thing is, Izzy gets jealous when Aerie is sitting on my lap or sleeping up by my head in bed and hisses a bit until Aerie pushes over to make room for Izzy.
