   I have a shih-tzu and they are wonderful dogs! Not only are they pretty lazy (I used to take him on walks only to carry him back home because he'd lay down and refuse to get up!), but they also love cats! My family has had a few shih-tzus and they've all been really sweet dogs and all have loved their feline brothers/sisters. Shih-tzus are indoor dogs, though, and love cuddling by their humans.

   Who could resist these babies?

   well see thats a problem it has to be a outside dog because our landlord only allows outside dogs as bad as i hate that i mean shih-tzus are beautiful and everything dont get me wrong or anything but its my stupid landlord we had to fight teeth and nails just to keep scooby inside! but its not like my dog is going to destroy everything im pretty sure i can find out ways to train it

   Maybe you could do some research on a Beagle. They're known to be calm, sweet and very loving. Plus they're small. I'm not sure about the barking habits of a beagle though. Any dog if they're bored and don't get the attention they need will likely bark though. =) Good luck. I hope you'll go to a shelter for your dog.....there's alot of dogs that need loving homes. There's even alot of full breed dogs in the shelters now days too.

   This may sound like a stupid question, ILC, but why would you even get a dog if it had to stay outside all of the time? I would think that that would defeat the purpose?

   yeah i've been researching on that paticural breed for awhile and love the breed but yes i'll be getting him/her at my shelter if they have that breed they dont have much at all actually last time i went (omg i saw the cutest husky there it was pure black with blue eyes) i would get a husky but a. they go thru tons of food which isnt a problem for me its just that my mom likes to "save" food and b they are big whiners and howlers and im sure our neighbors wouldnt be happy lol

   well good question uhm because i'll be out there alot so its not like it will be lonly and they just seem all coped up and anxious when there inside all the time
