  1. Oh that is such wonderful news about WIlma! She has been in our prayers and I am so happy she ate and went potty. I Pray everything works out well for your sister. Big hugs to all of you!

  2. So what happened to Wilma? I read all your posts but couldn't find the final diagnosis...she didn't end up having surgery did she? Did she just get better?

I am worried about Willow cause I rang the vet this morning and they said that he had another small vomit last night. This morning he didn't want to eat. The vet said that he is pretty certain it is gastro. I rang another vet and fortunately they spoke to me on the phone and they told me that it sounds like gastro also. My vet also checked with his wife (who is vet too) and she thinks gastro. I think its because on the xray his tummy looked like he had lots of gas. Other than his vomiting though, he is very bright. I just hate waiting. I just want him to be better.

  3. I'm praying your Willow gets back to 100% really soon, Jessij.
Wilma improved without surgery. I guess they no longer saw on the x-ray what was causing the obstruction. Strange, but good news for Wilma, MC and Betty :)

  4. Leela is running around like a nut - she's so happy Wilma is home and your family is back together!
Hope Willow feels better soon, Jessi.
Shaddo had many mystery illnesses over the years, and was quite good at giving us scares over the years. He inherited 8 lives from Diva Smokie and by the time he left us he had used about 27!
    Welcome home Wilma!

  5. Welcome home, Wilma! After a bit of rest and a few niptinis from your meowmy and your tomdad, you'll be ready to rule the TDK roller rink again.

  7. Yay for Wilma!!!! I'm glad she is feeling better. I'm sure she has an earful to give you about her mistreatment at the vet's office. How could you be so cruel as to take her there!!! ;P

I hope Willow recovers quickly from whatever his upset is, Jessi.

  9. Just gave Wilma her first "at home" shot and she is no longer blessing me with her prescence. I think she is very angry right now under the bed. I hope she gets over it cause we gotta do it all over tomorrow! :D

  10. You have my sympathy MC. Shadz still gets pi**ed at me every morning when I give her her 1/2 tablet. In fact yesterday & today I had to wait until the evening to get it down her throat. I'm getting less fight from her now so I figure she realises it is helping her feel better.

  11. Oh, Wilma, give your meowmy a break, she is trying to do her best for you, you need to trust her on this. I'm so glad she's home again, safe and sound, MC, that's wonderful news! Jessi, I hope Willow is soon home with you again too.

  15. MC...what is the shot for? I am confused...

Posted 2 years ago by Dee #

  16. Dee, I believe MC said the shots were an antiobiotic/kitty PeptoBismol mixture.

  17. YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY!

Posted 2 years ago by SugarBee #

  18. Thanks Katthays. That's weird...aren't pills the normal antibiotic route? Or maybe she has a problem with pills? Did the vet prescribe flagyl?

Posted 2 years ago by Dee #

  19. Dee, I'm assuming the "shot" is given orally, with a syringe but no needle, to administer liquid meds.

Posted 2 years ago by Leeny #

  20. Oh! I heard the word "shot" and assumed a needle was involved. Thanks, Leeny.

Posted 2 years ago by Dee #

  21. Me, too, Dee...

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  22. Right, I too at first thought "shot" = needles.....but with the kitty pepto, that sure didn't make sense :)) Poor Wilma gets "shot" in her mouth with a yucky tasting substance :0

Posted 2 years ago by katthays #

  23. Oh yeah, its a shot shot. It has a big long needle I have to stick in the back of her neck. That is why she doesn't like it. I think there is some flagyl in it too. They are premixed with three things in it. She does NOT like it one bit. She is NOT a pill taker and the vet said this was the safe route in case she vomits.

  24. OH! A shot shot. Oh -- that cannot be fun. Sorry you have to do that. I wouldn't be able to do that on my own.

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  25. OMG, MC.....so it is a shot-shot! UGH, how awful for you both!! Poor Wilma :(

Posted 2 years ago by katthays #

  26. Oh, I thought kitty pepto-bismol was something she would have to swallow; that's why I assumed she was getting it orally. It does make sense, though, to give her an injection seeing as she's been vomiting. Not that its making sense makes it any easier for you or Wilma!

  27. Oh Dear, poor Wilma and poor MC. I got so spoiled with my Gibbie (the diabetic). He never, ever gave me trouble about the shots. In fact he was so good about it that when he stayed at the vet's office (when I was away) they would ask to use him to teach people how to give shots. Gilbert was a true gentleman all his life. I thought all cats were that good about shots! Boy was I naive.

  28. So is the shot to calm the inflammation caused by the obstruction? Because if Wilma is still inclined to vomit, you'd have to ask why...I wonder about stopping symptoms which are the body's way of saying something wants out!

Posted 2 years ago by eleniki #

  29. I sure hope the girls decide to get along soon! This is getting hard watching them spit and fight so much! Can't get any sleep around this crazy house of fighting cats!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  30. How is Wilma doing on eating, MC?
