  1. My cats are driving me crazy! My grown cat cries at night (all night!) and scratches at his door wanting out. I've tried double sided tape on the door, he has playmates in the room with him and he has everything he physically needs in that room. He has kept me up for over 2 months now doing this mess. He also attacks anyone who comes into the house (including me!) By this I mean biting for no reason that I can see with no warning. My friend was sitting on the couch the other day and he climbs up and lays behind her then all of a sudden attacks her head! In addition to his craziness, his playmate literally climbs the walls in my house. She also pees on my furniture. I'm to the point where they both have got to go unless someone can help. Please help.

  2. I haven't much advice for you LS.... the only thing I can possibly recommend is Feliway http://www.feliway.com/us

  3. Hi Laura -
I don't know a lot about Feliway, but I've heard it helps. There must be something out there to help with peeing on stuff too. If there's been a change of some kind, hopefully they will adjust. They do go thru phases too, and I know first-hand how tough some of kitties' phases can be.
Good luck and hang in there!

  4. How old is your grown kitty? If he's under 2 years old, this will probably get better. Kitties go through adolescence (usually within the first year or two). I have two cats, myself, and I thought I would go nuts the first couple years. They got into everything, made noise all night long, and ran around like banshees. There also were differences of opinion over the appropriate items to use as litter boxes. One night I sat watching these two wild things, and I noticed one playing with the fringe on my nice new pillow. I thought she was being sooo cute. She batted and batted at it, then turned around, settled in, and peed all over it.

Anyhow, now that my kitties are all grown up, they don't run around like banshees (or pee on pillows).

  5. Thank you all so much for the advice! My grown cat is 5 years old and the kitten is around 3 months now. What about climbing the walls? Any advice on how to get that to stop?

  6. Do you keep them both in just one room? Or is that just at night? No cat likes being closed into a room, even overnight - they like to be part of the action. If I close either of my cats (1 year old and 5 month old) into a room for any period of time, they scratch like crazy to be let out. Given the run of the house, they are fine. It sounds to me like your cat has cabin fever. He might need more space and more stimulation. Do you play with them?

  7. The cats have run of the whole house all day. They get tons of play and attention. We've been trying to lock them up at night because my older cat walks all over us and keeps us up all night. I'm pregnant and he's too heavy to be walking on me and plus I've developed allergies to the cats since I got pregnant. Our lives are HELL because of these spoiled cats! I'm resenting them so much right now. They are ruining our lives. I'm at my wits end. I have tried the advice that everyone has given us. Nothing is working. They have everything they need and still act terrible. I'm to the point now where I'm trying to find them other homes. I've always loved animals and do everything I can to rescue strays and find them homes. All of my animals are ones that I've taken in. I've NEVER had any as bad as these 2 cats. I've rescued over 50 in the past few years. All except 2 cats, 3 large dogs, a rabbit and 2 bearded dragons have been placed in loving homes. I've contacted all of my local rescue agencies that I've always worked with and now that I need help, they act snobbish towards me. Any other advice?
