  1. WWM, I must tell you both Eric & Pickle love the little quilt, it lives on our bed and they take it in turns (sometimes involuntarily!!) to sleep on it!

  2. ...... *stagers* in the Cafe and almost faints........ "well pour me out, and mop me up!"...... I have never endured anything so hot in my life as the UF/Tenn football game yesturday!...... 3:00 game, sun directly in our faces for 4 hours, 90+ degrees!........ I think I lost 5 lbs in sweat!......makeup? that melted off the first 15 min..... deodorant? no one in the stadium was apparently wearing any......ear plugs? should'a thought of them...... I remember now why I didn't like football in college!.... LOL (I'm just whining!)

..... it was good to see Son, he was in his element, his fraternity had a big party for the alumni and parents, we won the game, and Hubbs and I made it back safely!.... so life is good.......

.... I'm too pooped to do any unpacking or house work, so I'm sitting here with Abby, who won't leave my lap, because she's afraid I'll leave her again for a night!....

.... how is everyone, welcome to MCW Mum, and what has happened over the weekend?......

  3. Hi and bye WWM! Bye for now KW!

  4. Hi and bye WWM..hi AV!!!

MC..Oh I can't throw out Maddie's toys...I try to recycle for Abbie or I have stored them in a bin. That girl has hundreds of stuffed animals so I put ones that she doesn't play with in a big bin in the basement..now she has some room.

  5. Hi MC & CM!...... I will have to say, I tried to save/recycle stuffed animals when my kids were little, and they "multiplied" while I wasn't looking.... Son couldn't throw anything away, and when I tried the recycle them for daughter, half the time, she wasn't interested!..... now, 22 years later, I'm left with BOXES of those things!....... hindsight tells me now, pick a few choice, or favorite ones, and garage sale the rest!.... of course, the trick is to "donate" them when child isn't involved with the proces... everytime I had Son talked into taking some of the stuffed animals to the Salvation Army for less fortunate kids, he would be pulling out of the box, as fast as I could put them in it!...... he couldn't "part" with about 100 of his most special things! LOL.... they are in the garage as we speak!....... LOL

  6. Hi AV! How are things in your neck of the woods today? Doing anything today or just relaxing? CM, so glad you believe in recycling toys. I got toys that were passed down from five other kids by the time they got to me. I can relate to that for sure!

  7. I have to believe in it..we can't afford all new toys :) Some toys Maddie just has grown out of so I gave them to Abbie. of course now Maddie wants to play with them. lol. I tell her they can share the toys.
I will most likely give the stuffed animals to good will at some point. I will keep her special ones for her so she can have when she gets older but thats it. I still have stuffed animals that I had and that my mom had..I have to get rid of them. Just like you AV, has to be when they are not around!

  8. (((Huggs Maddie and Abbie!))))...... That's exactly like mine - when I would pull one of Sons' old infant toys out for daughter.... all of a sudden, it was his favorite thing again!... LOl

.. to answer your question MC, I did some basic cleaning, unpacked one box that I have been looking for, and am now relaxing while doing laundry... I feel like cooking today, so I'm making a complicated (time intensive) dish - braised short ribs over parsely parmesean smashed potatoes and fresh field peas w/snap beans....... aaaahhhh comfort food!...

  9. AV, please set an extra spot at the table, I will be over for dinner-- YUM!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  10. ... makes note to pack "wormhole safe" covered dish for MC!..... one day, we'll have to have a meet up where WWM, myself, MS, Jinxfairey and others that love to cook can do so, and the rest can sample!

... that might be the same trip that we all board a plane to NZ, London, and then another US tour! when I win the lottery! LOL

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  11. I will send Betty to the wormhole later to pick up the goodies. I love to cook, just not for one person, its kinda hard to do.

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  12. ...MC, I'm only cooking for two now...... but I still love to do it!..... I just have smaller versions of what I would normally cook fow the whole family.... I refuse to compromise my good food.... WWM can probably relate - she only cooks for two, but you just make enough for the two of you, and if there are leftovers, they make great lunches!.....

  18. Goodmorning ladies! It's Monday - ahhhhhh! Someone slip me something to get me through. We have a regional manager in the office today so we're all trying to be on our best behaviour. Had a lovely weekend, got some gardening done, went to miniKK's soccer prizegiving (she didn't win anything), went for a bike ride up the river with MrKK and had drinks with friends. Now I have a busy week to get through with a business trip in the middle (the last 'donut run' for awhile).

Posted 2 years ago by KapitiKats in NZ #

  19. *slips KK a margarita silently so her bosses don't know*
    mmmm donuts......

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  20. LOL!... *wonders* how margaritas would go over with the Monday "donut" meeting!... LOL

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  21. I'm sure the margarita would go over a damn sight better than the box of vanilla flavoured 'liquid breakfast' I just sucked down!

Posted 2 years ago by KapitiKats in NZ #

  22. mmmmm, jelly filled donuts, my favorite!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  23. I'm planning on getting a lemon-filled donut on Wednesday, MC. My monthly business trip is being replaced by a video-conference so I won't be going through the airport past the donut stand so often. My family is distraught.

  24. i can understand, how awful! lemon filled-yum!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  25. mmmm lemon filled....I love those!

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  26. LOL KK!..... this new job has really made me "re think" the weekly meetings!.... I've actually instituted a new idea of brings "gourmet" open house dishes to the meetings, for everyone to sample!.... I'm trying to get my agents to "kick it up a notch".... and what better way than top notch food!...

... ok, it's "freaking pouring" here right now, and the thunder is scaring Abbs and Cuddles.... both girls came in for "reassurance"... and then of course, Cuddles "hissed" because Abby was too close to her!..... will they EVER learn that I can love "BOTH" girls at the same time!... LOl

  27. So I was upstairs diligently quilting away when I realized "They are talking about me!!!!!" So I rushed down to see what was up. Cooking! Doesn't it get old sometimes just cooking for two on an everyday basis? I really like to cook for company but sometimes I go braindead trying to think of exciting things for just everyday dinners. Tonight we're going out - no cooking or dishwashing for me!

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  28. My thoughts exactly WWM! Its almost two much work and brain searching to cook for one. I love it, its just a lot of work. Going out to eat or picking something up on the way home is sometimes so much easier. Abs and Cuddles, its ok, meowmy loves you BOTH!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  29. I go through spurts where I'm just sort of tired of menu planning, shopping, cooking and when that happens our dinners are pretty boring. But then I'll see a new recipe or something and want to work harder to make everyday dinners more special.

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  30. I honestly miss good old fashioned home cooked meals. I am pretty boring in my 'cooking for one'
