  1. I need to menu plan...I have no idea really of what to do. Making dinner each night is my beast of burden..since I don't know what to make. I need easy and something a 3 year old would eat. Something with everyday household items....I need a chef....

  2. You could always cook and freeze part, MC. Then you'd have meals ready on the evenings that you're really tired and don't want to cook.

  3. I should make Sundays my cooking day and package up for the week. I am wanting to get an upright freezer for the garage cause I have a teeny tiny freezer that is on its last leg. Maybe I will buy me one for Christmas! Oh CM, I can't imagine feeding a 3 year old and a baby who is now starting to eat regular foods!

  4. Spaghetti and meatballs is a once a week in our house, but I know Maddie will eat it and I make enough for Wayne to take for lunch to work for a few days.
Other than that it's a daily guess of what it will be....it's hard

  5. I know Maddie likes chicken nuggets too!

  6. ..... I don't know what to say, other than, I LOVE fresh foods, so I shop daily ( and I'm able to cause the fresh market is right next to my office! )... I've learned to "pair down" the portions from a family of 4 ( 2 normal adults and 2 "HUNGARY" teens )..... to just the two of us "empty nesters - want to be healthy folks".....

... I swear, I'm going to write a cookbook, because so many people ask me !... LOL (yeah, right, someday in my dreams!)

... but seriously, even when I was a single girl, I learned how to cook for one!.... I guess I'm just obsessed with food, because I love flavors and different things, so I won't compromise on ingredients!......

.... and yes, there are days, when I don't feel like "c**king*... ok, so we have something simple like a pasta dish thrown together, but whatever, CM and WWM are both good, inspired cooks, and we all go thru those ups and downs!.... "keep it up girls!"....... Loya (= my son's version of "love ya")

  7. I menu plan before I go grocery shopping. I have a grocery shopping list that I designed that has sections that match all the supermarket aisles, in order so when things run out or I am planning I write them in the appropriate place. I then write my menu plan on the back of the shopping list. It saves going backwards and forwards all over the store/or all over the list. Yes, my name is KK and I am anal-rententive. My friends laugh about my list and then ask for copies!

  8. FF says I need to take a cooking class, he did after he got divorced. He makes really awesome meals for the guys at the firehouse. They never go without when its his turn to cook!

  9. How many does he have to cook for MC? When I was at college I shared a house with 7 others. Rather than cooking for 8 I just cooked and divided it 8 ways!

  10. I think on an average evening its six. If his lieutenant is there is it 7 others. They have an awesome fresh fruit market next to the firehouse and a large grocery across the street.

  11. I always (well, almost always) do menus before I go to the store and then I know what I need. Then I make my grocery list and put everything in the proper category (ie "vegetable"; "meat"; "dairy"). That way I know that I have what I'll need to make the meals that I have planned. If I go without a list I come home with bags of stuff, but it's usually not the stuff that I need!

I wish that I knew what a 3 year old would eat, but I'm totally inexperienced there. Mac n' cheese?

  12. ...oh, of course, we have to be good list shoppers!... that's always been one of my staples!.... if I don't make a pre-planned course of action, and a list of "to dos".... "to gets"...., I couldn't carry it out!....I totally agree with KK, you must pre plan your meals, and then make a list, so you shop efficently!..... it's a multi tasking world right now, and I would DROWN if I didn't do this!......

  13. CM!....my heart goes out to you because, I too had those toddlers that "wouldn't eat anything!....

oh no, EVERYONE just drove up to my house....

...be back later, and will give you my answer!.... gotta run!

  14. And because my meal plan is on the back of the shopping list it gets pinned back on the fridge and MrKK can see what he needs to start work on before I get home. I leave the recipe on the bench for him with any additional notes about where to find the ingredients or how much to make. So far we haven't had any cases of food-poisoning!

  18. Oh Miss Maddie, you eat like a three year old! LOL Of course the neighbor decided to start building something and the girls are "gone" again! AARGH! Doesn't he know I have girls to care for? I had the Healthy Choice Pumpkin Squash Ravioli and I am not sure how I feel about that. It was "interesting". It grew on me the more I ate it but I don't know if I would buy it again..........

  23. OOOOUUUU - I just got a whole bunch of new bike jerseys and a brand new pair of bike gloves from Mr.WWM!!! And he gave me a Road ID bracelet with all of my information in case I crash and burn and I'm alone on the roads! And we're going out to dinner!!!! No cooking for me tonight. I had to laugh. One of the bike jerseys has a huge martini glass on the front and down the sides it says "Martini time". LOL! Everyone will know that I'm a serious biker!

Posted 6 months ago by WillowandWindismom #

  24. Love the martini jersey, you will look great in it! Please take a pix of yourself in it, its something we all want to see. Enjoy dinner out with Mr. WWM, I am sure it will be really nice!

Posted 6 months ago by AV #

  29. *sigh* ..... Quickly has Mr. WWM make one of his famous "Slightly Dirty Martini's" for AV and sends it along with some nice pate and rye bread.....

Posted 6 months ago by WillowandWindismom #

  30. Kittymom made the most AWESOME pate while we were at her house last weekend. I really didn't want to be rude, but I could have gobbled up the entire bowl.
