Puddytat Update

  1. Hey TDK family! This has been a very interesting week. I was informed on Monday that I will be "shared" in my job. I have been at Animal Nutrition at Texas A&M for 12 years. I run the office, edit grants, deal with ranchers, grad students, conferences and anything else that happens to come up. I am responsible for 4 professors and 9 graduate students. The secretary in the Equine Science section quit and because of budget cuts will not be replaced. My section leader and the section leader of Equine got together and decided that I would work half a day in Equine and half a day in Animal Nutrition. I really did not have a choice. Kind of like a fax machine...unplug here-plug in there! Well, it turns out they jumped the gun. The administrative supervisor for animal science asked to speak to me and she was spitting nails. Turns out that the details had not been finalized and she wanted to speak to me first. These professors are such morons some times! She told me that, of course I had a choice but it would be really wonderful if I could help them out. The topper is that I will get a really nice raise and a huge jump in ranking. The guys did not bother to tell me that. I will have 13 professors and about 14 graduate students! Life is going to be interesting! It is a good thing, especially since so many are out of work these days. I will have to learn how to use a PC. I'm a serious MAC person. But actually life is pretty darn good.
Abbey (B&W Kitty Mama) is having some back problems and a bit of sciatica in the last 3 days but all is well with the pregnancy. A few TDK thoughts and prayers would be welcomed. We are anxiously waiting for Charles. We are still talking about the Austin meet up. Can't wait for the next one.
My new kit, Hadley (or the Insect) has been totally welcomed into the family. Wilbur is holding his own and back up to his usual weight. T-Do is trying to teach Hadley some lessons but mostly they are playing. It is very different having a kitten in the house again. Hadley's beautiful blue eyes still astound me. Hope you are all well and happy. I think of you folks all the time. Hugs to all. Headbonks and skritches to the TDK kits! I will try to post more often but with the new job it will have to be in the evenings.

  7. Oh PT, con-cat-ulations! What a great thing to get promoted like that, though you will be a tad busy. Sounds like you are highly valued, as you should be with all your skills. Praying that Abbey and Charles feel well soon, just a little while longer and he will be here! YAY! Keep us updated.

  8. Puddytat, that is wonderful news, although we will miss you on here if you don't have so much time to get on! Boy, do they know how much they need you! You must be an invaluable part of that department!
