I may be tempting Fate, but I never get the regular flu, so I don't think I'll get the vaccine for this one either.

I'm going to get the regular flu shot (I always do) and the H1N1 if it becomes available to my age group. I'm not quite old enough to be considered a target for this flu, but I'm around over a hundred co-workers and hundreds of customers that I'd like to be protected from any flu.

I am going to get the regular flu shot and H1N1 because I don't have the time to get sick. Really, it is horrible to miss the classes I am taking and if I don't feed calves my dad can't either because it is to much for him to do with his MG. Then no one else knows how to feed the farm cats.
I think that because I go to school I am considered at risk enough to be able to get them. They are expecting 1000 people at the local collage to get swine flu within the next few weeks and being in a crowded high school sure isn't gonna help for people my age either.

I'm glad you are going to get the shots, FF50. Schools sound like the number one place to get exposed to this nasty bug!

As we're coming into summer, I'm not sure we'll be offered it, but yes, I would like to get it. I hate getting the flu and I'm certainly not looking forward to getting this one, which is now the main strain in NZ. It is dangerous for those with other conditions, and, as I've just edited a load of papers on bird flu and other strains of flu (handily!), I know that though H1 strains don't usually turn highly pathogenic, there are no guarantees and this strain is probably already a combination of human, avian and swine strains. So any resistance I can get is fine by me!
But then I am in favour of vaccination in general. As a baby, in London, there was a whooping cough epidemic and I caught it. It was so long since the doctors had seen it, they took a while to figure out what it was. I was lucky I had already had the first shot (there were three), which gave me some protection but I still (apparently -- I don't remember, lol) got very sick. I know there are risks but IMHO, the odds are still better than getting the actual disease...
