I feel it getting colder here in Australia, I think kitten season is gonna end really soon, it's gonna end right before me and my bf have the chance to be more financially safe to have a kitten. And I feel sad that I can't adopt kittens just yet, I probably have to wait another year. I feel sad :(

Alice, have you actually contacted any shelters yet? Kitten season is just beginning in NZ so I can't see how it can be ending in Australia. You will need to wait a couple of months until the kittens being born now get old enough to leave their mothers and be adopted but kitten season should run right through now to the beginning of next year. Give your SPCA a ring.

If finances are a problem, you might consider adopting an older cat or two. You could save the expense of all their shots and neutering. Plus, older cats tend to be picked last so many of them never ever get a forever home.
