  1. Hi Kilroy! And hi to GD and 2P too :o)

  2. Hi all, hope everyone is well this Monday. I still have WW3 going on at my house. Betty and Wilma just can't seem to love each other any more. I did the bath wipes (which Wilma loves) and Betty hated. One of their goldfish died today. I am pooped. I told them to fight it out, get it over with, and move on. I want peace in the house. Man are they unhappy. I have an appt with the neurologist in about 1/2 hour so I am killing time until then.

  3. Molly, have you tried one of the Feliway plug in diffusers? Sounds like it might help ease the tension between Betty & Wilma. Good luck for the neuro appt.

  4. Bad Betty and Wilma - it seems like they should have gotten over this by now :(

    Hi MCW!

I'm out the door on my way to work. Check back later. Best of luck with your appointment, MC!

  8. I am thinking a feliway diffuser is in the works. I get paid tomorrow and may have to get one. I think they have them at Petsmart. I hope that this ends soon, the girls are both so unhappy. Hi MCW and 2P! Have fun at work GD! Will probably see you later on Facebook!

  10. Good luck for your appointment MC.

    Hi Kilroy.

Pickle has been with us a month now, so she's 16 weeks old. She's still a complete nutcase and has shredded the curtain linings in the sitting-room, where we are keeping her now. Luckily, because she is so food orientated catching her in the cat basket isn't too hard. I always feed her in the basket and when she needs to be taken to the vet, I just shut the door behind her when she goes in to eat.

Garbo still hates the "interloper". Pickle would love to play with her, but she's having none of it. Oh, well, it's early days yet.

  13. Hi 2P and PM

Posted 2 years ago by daisy mew #

  14. Molly - they have them at Petsmart, San Diego!!!

Kilroy - aw, me too! That two weeks just whistled by. Luckily work was nowhere near as horrific as I'd been thinking it might be this morning (although I've not got to the bottom of everything yet!)

    Daisy - hi! Long time since I chatted with you. Sorry things have got a bit difficult recently {{{hugs}}

PM - took about 6 weeks before Pickle would even "talk" to Eric when we first introduced him, now they're best buddies!

  24. OK guys, I'm heading off to do pre-bed jobs before an early-ish night. I thought I'd got past the jet lag til I couldn't get to sleep last night - read a bit - tried again - read a bit - finally dropped off about 03.20. Hoping a full day's work with no nap will do the trick and I get a full night's sleep tonight!

  25. Good night MCW, sleep well.

  26. Good afternoon all or evening and happy Moanday. Sleep well MCW. Hope you get some well needed rest.

I got into work today to find out that on Friday they had laid off an administrative assistant who had been here two years longer than I had. Her boss left in May for a job with another company and they moved her to another manager. I guess when the new Executive Assistant to the SVP came on board today, they decided they didn't need the admin. So they show her the door on Friday and she wasn't even allowed to collect her things. Another admin will come and box up her stuff sometime today or tomorrow. I find the whole handling of letting someone go but not allowing them to take their things with them very strange. All they need to do is have a security guard and an HR rep come up and watch her pack up her personal things. They would have already shut down her computer access as of Friday so she wouldn't have even been able to get on the computer at her desk. I don't understand how we can allow employers to toss employees aside with no notice at all but that when an employee wants to leave, they must give at least two weeks notice to be in good standing with their former employer. The admin they laid off I am guessing for her to be in her late 50's to early 60's. Finding another job will be tough for her unless she has some good contacts.

Naturally all this makes me a bit nervous since the layoff occurred in my department. What amazes me is that I am still here even with my manager being laid off back in October of last year and my having just under 2 years. The admin who was laid off on Friday had over 4 years with the company but for some reason they didn't try to find her another spot within the company.

The weekend went way too fast as usual. I enjoyed my time with Mia and Sylvester. We played a bit and napped a bit and I managed to clean up my apartment a little (it was too hot to vacum). Sunday I spent from 4pm-8pm doing laundry because the laundry room has three washers and dryers which meant I should have been done by 6:30pm but because two were broken, I had only one to work with. I got five loads done due to having at least the one washer and three dryers working. I had to do laundry as I was running out of work shirts otherwise I wouldn't have done it due to it being so warm out.

It is suppose to be 90 today and 87 tomorrow in my area and the humidity is high again at 66%. That makes it feel warmer than it is. My apartment was too hot this weekend and I had the fans blowing much to the dismay of my cats. As much as enclosed hallways are nice, it makes it so you can't get any cross ventilation and my unit faces south into a courtyard and so I don't get as much wind or breezes as I would like. I am looking forward to cooler weather and much needed rain.

  27. It's hot here today, too. I can't wait for fall to get here. I'm feeling lazy today, but at least I got a few things done. Working now til 9:00 and then stopping by XBF's to pick up my mail - my new Dan Brown book arrived, so I'm looking forward to reading that. I didn't get a chance to pick it up during the weekend, but then again, I wouldn't have had any time to read it.

  28. That was an uneventful trip to the neuro. She asked how I was, handed me a prescription and said come back in four weeks. Whoopee!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  29. Well, at least it wasn't bad news, MC.

Have you tried Bach's Rescue Remedy for Pets on the girls? Bobby was out of his little mind nuts last night and I gave him a few drops. He settled down nicely and slept til 4:30. It's a lot cheaper than Feliway and it helps Bobby, and I know WWM mentioned it helping Windi.

  30. Everything okay with the fluid level, MC? GD, what is the new Dan Brown Book? Is that one with the red wax seal on the front of the cover? It is suppose to be about some secret society within the US that even George Washington was a member (saw a show on the history channel about it).

I wonder if weather changes affect our cats. With GD's Bobby and Milo, MC's Betty and Wilma and now Windi all acting up a bit makes me wonder if there is something afoot out in the universe that affects them. With the warm weather here, my cats were quite mellow. Even Mia has become a bit affectionate and if she isn't watching, I can sneak a belly rub (have to be quick though as the claws come out fast). That is okay as I get all my belly loving with Sylvester who just can't get enough belly rubs.
