{{{hugs}}} SM. Perhaps he is scared of everything that is happening but can't show it and this is how it comes out. Just calmly let him know that you don't appreciate his attitude at the moment as you have more important things to think about than laundry.

Oh, SM, that stinks, tell him he's big enough and ugly enough to wash and iron his own pants for once. Tell him if he has to wear unwashed, unironed pants, that that's not the worst thing that could happen to him. I just want to hug you and give him a big angry shove. What is wrong with the man? {{{SM}}}

Jcat, you just used my favourite phrase 'big enough and ugly enough'. My family know it well.
SM, you just keep looking after yourself however you feel is best for you. Your family can cope with the mundane everyday chores.Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

Oh, SM - The man is scared! When I had my back surgery and some complications from the meds afterwards and ended up back in the hospital, it shook Richard to his core!! I know that doesn't excuse his behavior but it does explain it - men just don't have it in them to handle it when someone they love is sick. I am still praying for you and I know God hears us.

It's my dad's favourite phrase too, MS. What I remember my dad patiently (or exasperatedly) saying to me when I was a child was 'You're big enough and ugly enough to do it yourself' and 'Hold your horses'. SM, I recommend you learn that phrase, you're big anough and ugly enough to do it yourself, off by heart and use it liberally! You can say it with a smile if that makes you feel better. {{{SM}}}

Yup, he's scared spitless is my guess. Some men are unable to express or understand the emotions they feel. They've been raised not to connect to themselves or others in that way. I think the tide is turning on that (thank God).
I saw the good news about your daughter's car purchase, SM. What a rock star she is. :)

OMG! Those are exactly the phrases Mum used and still does with all my family as well as with the grandkids now. Another one was "You drive me up the wall and down the other side!" I think we may have been annoying her when she used that one.

LOL at the boarding school threat. It depends on how you kids took it as to whether it was a good or bad threat of course. I don't think I could have been the annoying one as I was so good, must have been KK or one of the brothers.
KK is on the donut run to Jafaland today, I wonder if she will see the creature that was on Close Up last night, did you see her?Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

MS, we thought it must be the worst thing that could ever happen to a child. She was really at the end of her tether when she threatened that...
Ooh, doughnuts! Yes, I did see the poor afflicted woman, who has been totally brainwashed into thinking the bigger the breasts, the better. It's a terrible kind of self-mutilation!
Must get back to work, see you later!

Bye, see you tonight Jcat. I must do some work too. Just had to towel off a wet cat who is now full of milk and cookies and settling into her bean bag for the afternoon. Must be more rain on the way.

Just got my donuts and......sorry, CM, no lemon ones today. Got a Boston Creme, a Bavarian Creme and a Black Raspberry. And 6 donut holes - jelly, strawberry and creme.
I didn't see the Mammaries on Motorcycles parade today in Auck but saw plenty of people lining the streets to watch. Lots of construction workers!
Can't wait to get home to miniKK - she turned an important corner in her life last night! My baby is growing up!Posted 2 years ago by KapitiKats in NZ #

Jcat & Deb, I'll be later than usual getting back to the NS. We have a double episode of 'Fringe' and then 'Primeval'. Can't miss my science fiction fix.

Lol, SYFY is always a good thing! Actually was sleeping until I woke up hungry and thirsty, which reminds me that I haven't gotten anything to solve either of those problems! If I don't make it back, its because I fell asleep again. Just tired as all heck lately and I know its probably stress with everything going on. So I'll be back as Arnie always says!

It's 11.50pm here in NZ, ...the night is chilly in NZ and cool to d**n hot in USA ..... so time to close Night Shift and snuggle under the comforters, so here goes...good job everyone & bless you...
check - turns fountains off
check - sweep the floor (never know who has been tossing stuff around)
check - lights off and turns out neon "TDK Night-Shift" and "Poetry Jam" sign in window
check - night lights glowing gently, puts on cool jazz radio for ambiance and stragglers check - cat flaps swings creeeeeeeek (pulls out WD-40), check cat flaps again to ensure they swing quietly and effortlessly
check - doors closed, left just ajar so fuzzbutts don't come to us with complaints
check - dry kibble out as a midnight snack (so hopefully no 5 am breakfast wake-up call) and freshens litter-box. Puts away assorted fuzzy, squeaky cat-toys into Toy-Boxcheck - windows slightly open for Northern TDKers' spring and closed for Southern TDKers' autumn.
Goodnight to all our imaginary friends in TDK land, Goodnight Airy and Jim-man. White light,healing energy and prayer for all those in need. Be careful out there! Bless all those whom have left before us, please watch over us >^..^<
