I have a sister-in-law who drinks Dr Pepper for breakfast...without the cereal.

Not me I hasten to add. Can we even buy it here?
No sparrow fart for me at the moment Deb. Mr MS is once again working away from home. It was his birthday today and he did a 12 hour day in pouring rain. Reckons the best part of the day was the cheap roast meal to warm the inside and then the hot shower to warm the outside of the body. He's well tucked up asleep by now. We'll celebrate his birthday when he gets back a day or two before we meet Airy.Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

Yay CM!.... a restful nights' sleep!.... always a good thing!
Good morning all!.... been up for an hour doing "personal" paperwork, cause I know I won't get to it during the work day!..... meeting my manager for lunch ( poor guy, I've got an entire folder of "issues" to hit him with ), and then Hubbs is taking me out to dinner at the club for my birthday!...... even though it was a couple of weeks ago, the club sponsors "birthday month", so if we make a reservation during our month, the "birthday person" gets a free meal... it's nice!......

Morning AV! good use of time. I hear you..sometimes the early morning is the only time I get stuff done too.
Have fun at dinner tonight. I like that policy..free meals :)Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

Just like to share a little humorous moment I had earlier. I received a txt from Meegz asking if it's OK for Ruby to eat catnip. I rang her and said yes, it's fine. Then she asks if it's addictive, I say no(with my fingers crossed just in case) and to let Ruby have fun with it. When Meegz and Andrew first moved their respective cats into a new flat together I gave Meegz a small bag of my homegrown and dried catnip to help ease the cats into their new home. Meegz found it today in the bottom of the handbag(I've seen in there and I'm sure I saw another universe in there too)and gave 1 small flower to Ruby who seemed mildly interested and ate the flower. Meegz then forget the nip. Then while eating dinner they feel a cat rolling and rubbing around their feet under the table. Andrew takes a look and bursts out laughing. There's Ruby with the now torn open bag of nip, looking very mellow indeed. They just need to get Lucky into it, he had a fight today with another cat and now has ear piercings. I'm sure nip would help him.

...LOL, I'm surprized they still do it, but it's been their policy for like a 100 years!...... of course, I'll order one of everything!........
I can't believe it's almost October, Halloween will be here before you know it!...... I'm sure Maddie and Abbie will be sooooo cute! A pirate princess, and ? what did you decide for Abbie?..... and of course, you MUST post pics!

lol at Ruby!! I think she liked the nip...everything was relaxed and cool then for her..how funny.
Poor Lucky..he needs some loves and some nip :)Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

Morning CM and AV. CM, how wonderful a full nights sleep must be.
AV, have a great day and enjoy your lunch if the 'issues' let you. Have a wonderful birthday dinner.Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

I just got Abbie a ladybug costume. It's not as cute as the one we had for Maddie but she will be cute it in anyway. I wanted others but they want so much for these little costumes that the kids wear for 5 minutes when they are young..please...

Shadz barely registers the existence of nip, although she did have a drool and go dreamy eyed briefly over the homegrown nip recently. I'm growing more to dry this year.
One restaurant has a birthday policy here, but you have to go on your actual birthday and take at least 3 other people with you and have dessert.Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

.... ok, I'll tell you guys a "suspicious" story before I have to go get dressed for work (undies, check!).....
.....when we moved, I put my parakeets' cage on the porch by the window.... they love being by a window, and Abby generally enjoys watching them.... the cage is on a stand, about 3' up. Until now, she couldn't get close to the cage, but I have it in a corner, where Abby can jump up on the ledge of a porch sill and stare directly into the cage, big bright eyes about 1 " away from the bars of the cage........ I noticed a couple of days ago that the "alpha" bird, Princess has a hurt foot - no clue as to what she did to it, but she is definitely "favoring" it, and not climbing the cage walls like normal..... last evening I also noticed that she has a little "cut" on her snout - nothing big, but looks like dried blood....... so now I'm suspicious.... the bars are very close together, but I'm wondering if maybe Abby tried to squeeze her paw in the cage and nicked Princess?....... trust me, HRH Cuddles couldn't balance on that thin ledge......... I've moved the cage away somewhat now..... Princess seems to be getting better..... are there such things as bird doctors?....... do you think I should take her to a vet? -
I can picture Abby delicately unsheathing one claw(like on the cartoons) and poking it through the cage bars to see if the parakeet is plump enough for eating yet. After all you are fattening them up for her aren't you(feline snickering in the background).
Good idea to move the cage AV, where little Miss Opportunity can't fiddle with it.Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

MS looks at the floor and whistles tunelessly. Shadz wriggles restlessly in beanbag.

Jcat, is it cold down your way? KK says it's freezing at her place. It's cold here but I have the fire ticking over nicely. Wow, lots of snow down your end of the island, we just got rain, rain and even more rain and the same tomorrow but with thunder storms and possible hail. Ahhhhhhhh Spring!

MS, it's freezing here! And has been all day. I've been lugging my duvet around with me all day... the Rimutaka Hill road was closed because of snow. It didn't snow right here in Carty but it has been raining FOREVER. Oooh, a fire, I will be over to your place in five minutes, tell Shadz to shove over on that beanbag, lol...

...... hmmmmm........ *Abby stares lovingly at Meowmy with an "innocent" look*......
Hi Jcat! Too bad you and MS are having such cold weather still!...... I'm still hoping to feel "fall"....... so far, the temps have yet to drop below the 90's.... and humid!... ick!
.... dressed now, I must say I spent a little extra time this morning on the "beautification process"..... I need to look my best for my office meeting, and then lunch with the boss....... "issues" are always easier when one feels good about ones' self - I'm wearing my read top and favorite suit.....heading out shortly, hope everyone has a great day!
-
CM, Spring is our weather fickle month. We can go through all four seasons in one day in Spring. Last week we had beautiful hot clear days, just like summer and today we have rain, snow, gales and thunderstorms with hail and the same for tomorrow. Poor Mr MS is working out in the weather and by the end of the day has a very wet and cold a**e.

It's midnight here in NZ, ...the night is chilly in NZ and cool to d**n hot in USA ..... so time to close Night Shift and snuggle under the comforters, so here goes...good job everyone & bless you...
check - turns fountains off
check - sweep the floor (never know who has been tossing stuff around)
check - lights off and turns out neon "TDK Night-Shift" and "Poetry Jam" sign in window
check - night lights glowing gently, puts on cool jazz radio for ambiance and stragglers check - cat flaps swings creeeeeeeek (pulls out WD-40), check cat flaps again to ensure they swing quietly and effortlessly
check - doors closed, left just ajar so fuzzbutts don't come to us with complaints
check - dry kibble out as a midnight snack (so hopefully no 5 am breakfast wake-up call) and freshens litter-box. Puts away assorted fuzzy, squeaky cat-toys into Toy-Boxcheck - windows slightly open for Northern TDKers' spring and closed for Southern TDKers' autumn.
Goodnight to all our imaginary friends in TDK land, Goodnight Airy and Jim-man. White light, healing energy and prayer for all those in need. Be careful out there! Bless all those whom have left before us, please watch over us >^..^<
