  1. I could use some white light! I was very cold today at work. Freezing! I took my temp when I got home at 5 and it was 102.4! It is now up to 103.6. My brain is frying. No work for me tomorrow. The kits are being so sweet and keeping me warm. I sure hope that this is not H1N1. That would be bad. Texas A&M guidelines say I can't go to work tomorrow, even if my fever breaks. Must have 24 hours fever free. Hold a good thought for me. I am trying to force fluids but it is hard. Perhaps Twinnings classic tea is the ticket.

  3. Oh, Puddytat - I'm with Beth. I am very worried about you!!!! That is such a high fever and you must take great care not to become dehydrated. The signs and symptoms of H1Ni seem to be so vague. It could be an ordinary flu, it could be a respiratory infection, or it could truly be H1N1.

Please call your family doctor in the morning. You might not need to go in but perhaps they could call in an Rx for you.

    Mucho hugs.

  5. Puddytat--like Beth and WWM said--that is a very high temp--Tylenol, ice packs and check temp often--if it doesn't go down soon or goes up even the slightest, get yourself seen ASAP--Dr's office or ER. And fluids. (((Puddytat)))

  7. Puddytat, I'm with the rest of the gang. If your fever goes up any higher, you gotta get to a doctor, ER, whatever. And please don't try to drive yourself. Sending cooling thoughts and prayers for recovery.

  8. The H1N1 when it hit people here seemed to come on suddenly and with a high temperature, mostly. Do go to a doctor if it gets any higher and maybe ring and warn the practise that you are coming in with a high temp so they can keep you away from other patients.

  9. I am still here! My fever has come down I'm now at about 101. Last night was pretty rough but the kitties kept me warm and comforted. Not much sleep only in 40 minute bites. I'm pretty "tuckerd" out (That is a Texas phrase) Thank you so much for your kind words and thoughts. I will be home tomorrow also. I don't think I feel well enough for work.

  18. Oh PT, sorry you are so ill. I feel like I am missing out on so much here. I am so wrapped in worry about Wilma that I am missing half of everything else. Please see a doc if the temp is above 100F cause that is just not right or good for your body. I have had enough things wrong with me that I know it needs to be looked at. Betty sends purrs to you.

  19. PT...I'm glad your fever is dropping but it's still pretty high for you to be trying to treat yourself at home.

Like the others...I highly recommend the Chicken Soup. It's good for the soul. Altho when I'm sick...I love Lentil Bean soup. :)

    Get Well Soon!

  24. It has been a very long weekend. My fever has gone but I will tell you that it has kicked my behind. I don't think I have ever been this tired! Abbey came up yesterday and stayed the night. We were invited to join the family of one of my oldest friends as they placed Steve's ashes. It is such a long and happy story of our families. We all have sadness but Steve, who was only 2 years older than I am, died late in 07 from cancer of the sinus. He made such an amazing fight with such courage. He lasted 4 years with it. Steve and his older brother Tom have been like brothers to my sister and I since I was 5 years old. They lost their dad at 40 and were close friends with my folks. So my dad just stepped in and they both loved him like a dad. Only 7 people were invited and it was so intimate and special. Tom read a passage from Alfred Lord Tennyson that my dad read at his dad's funeral in the 50's. Tom remembered it! The Texas sky was blue, Steve's wife and son's were there. Not many tears but lots of memories and smiles and laughter. It was also really hot. I'm sure that it did not do me any good but I needed to be there. A celebration of his life. We had a nice visit after then came home. I had no idea what it took out of me to stand in the hot for so long but Abbey and I were done for. I'm sorry I did not get back to you folks. Shame on me. Your thoughts and prayers are so welcomed and wonderful. It was pretty scary having such a high fever. I am pretty healthy so this was so unfamiliar to me. Orthopedic problems, I have had lots, but just sick, not so much. Thanks for all the advice. I was fever free by Friday afternoon so I hope it was ok for Abbey to come in on Saturday afternoon. Don't want to endanger "Charlie"! Again, thanks so much for your kindness. Big hugs, purrs and skritches for all of you.
