Poor Wilma. I really hope they either find what is wrong or she gets back to normal quickly. And kudos to FF for checking in on Wilma AND you.

I'm speechless. I can't imagine why so many can find nothing wrong. Especially w/a fever involved. Didn't the vet mention he could see a mass of fecal matter in her? And if so,did he mention removing any such matter during surgery? I'm in no way questioning your vet. I agree in wondering if there was a kink in her intestines that undid itself during surgery.
I will definately continue the Prayers for Wilma. {{{HUGS}}}

Oh yes, they did take out the fecal matter and examined it. Completely NORMAL! Wasn't even dry or unusual

After all that poor Wilma has endured this last week...I'd say she's definately not normal. I hope something gives & they can determine what her ailment is. This has got to be so stressful for all involved.
MC...I was thinking...maybe they're looking at the wrong end? Not meaning to be funny. Maybe there is something in her throat somewhere that the x-ray isn't picking up? Something imbedded in her windpipe?

It really is, I think the vet is starting to get upset too. For some reason she really likes Wilma

she is limp as a dishrag at the vets, lethargic and won't eat. at least she has her popsicle toy that Melvin's mom made for her at the vet's with her. I thought something from home would be soothing. They say she sleeps with her head on it!

Poor Wilma, poor Betty and poor Mollycat! This is the strangest thing. I was thinking along the same lines as Feral; maybe they'll have to look end to end. Could it be an abcess? Will keep up the stream of prayers for our fiesty friend's recovery.

Like everyone else, I'm hugely relieved they found nothing wrong but then... what in heaven's name is wrong with poor Wilma? As KK says, I hope they find the problem soon or else that Wilma gets back to normal very quickly. And bless FF for supporting you during this, he is obviously worth hanging on to! Please give Wilma gentle hugs from me and many hugs for you and Betty too. {{{MC, Wilma and Betty]]]

yeah the last time she had surgery I had to massage aloe vera on the surgical wound so wilma would quit scratching it. she loved the tummy massages! she would throw herself down everytime she saw me. i would rub her tummy just to make her feel better!

Amy, the vets may have already asked you this, but is there anything new in the house that could be causing some sort of reaction in Wilma? New furniture, drapes, rugs--new toys that may have some sort of filling in it thats different? New treats or maybe different food?
I sure hope they find out soon what is wrong with Wilma. She needs to get better so she can come home to you and Betty. Hugs and prayers to you and the kits.Posted 2 years ago by morrissmom #

Oh Amy, how frustrating for you and Wilma. I hope they find out what is wrong and soon. Have they looked at her teeth, mouth & gums real well? Hugs & continued prayers for Wilma, you and Betty.

Spoke with the vet and she said Wilma is sure being Miss Spunky Pants today! YAY! Looks like the mega dose of fluids and antibiotics may have helped. She got more fluids this morning, more antibiotics and an appetite stimulant. She also has no fever today! Hip hip hooray! Then they said she took her popsicle toy (from Melvin) and hid under her blankie again! She was NOT interested in eating. If she continues to be so spunky they may let her come home today so that she feels more relaxed at home and will eat. Prayers are working! Keep them coming!

I am open to anything at this time! Seems like they have given me test results for everything but heck I can't remember if they tested for that Eleniki!

Continued prayers for everyone, MC! We want Wilma home and well again!! Chance and Smudge send their love to Wilma and Betty. (They don't care for the vet's place either and don't like being away from their meowmy, so they know how Wilma and Betty feels.)

Come on Wilma...stay spunky and keep that fever gone. We want you home and better!!
MC..is there anything in her hidey holes that she might have gotten into?? Mold, rat poison, ant traps, asbestos? I know I am pulling at straws but I don't want her to get sick again :)Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

Amy...I'm leaning towards the other's suggestions. The fact that Wilma likes to chew on odd things leads me to wonder whether she snacked on something else she shouldn't have? The fever w/nothing else makes me think...mold. The smallest amounts can wreak alot of havoc on such a tiny furball's system.
The news that she's showing spunk w/no fever is nothing short of a wonderful miracle.
Hopper & Hissy send purrs & asked me to tell Wilma to keep up the fight...something about the extra Love & Scritches when she does, will be worth it. After that...they talked some other language...meow,meow,meow,meow
