  1. Oh, don't I wish I'd had my camera this morning! Got to work to find my boss standing by the windows to the outdoor area where there are a bunch of satellite dishes and equipment; she was watching the most gorgeous hawk, hanging out and eating its breakfast (must have caught a mouse or two in Central Park). The dead mouse part was icky, but the bird was beautiful. It stayed for a long time, looking right at us, not bothered at all. Finished one mouse and hopped down to where it had a second stashed away. When it was done it just flew away.

What a great start to a Friday.

  2. Wow, what a sight that was to see! I, too, wish you had your camera so that we could see pictures. I agree, the eating part wouldn't have been so good, but just seeing this beautiful bird would have been special.

  3. There was a special on a hawk who made a home in a park(don't remember where).
It certainly was quite interesting to see all of the people who came to view the hawk/family throughout the seasons.

  4. We have had a peregrine falcon and a red-tail hawk eating in our back yard over the past few years. I have gotten as close as 4 feet to the peregrine and it didn't even react to me - they are some of the most beautiful birds. Richard gets angry when he sees them in the yard - we have a bird feeder for the smaller birds and that is why we get the hawks and falcons - they are hunting in our yard. I told him the only way he will deter them is to get rid of the feeder - I am glad he doesn't listen to me all the time! Lucky you, Kilroy, for seeing this beautiful bird!
