Scooby has had problems with other animals you brought into the house. If you want to take him you will choose to take him. You already know it will cause Scooby stress because he doesn't do well with other. Cats do not need to be extremely social--by their very nature they are not social with those they don't know.

AS has been said before, cats are not social animals the way some dogs can be. You do not bring a cat out of your house to have a party in a shop, and, as Soxsmom has already said, you know this. It strikes me that you have only a scant notion of how to care for your poor cat. You are constantly trying to impose human values on him. There is no question of 'looking at things differently' as you put it - the facts are there - cats do not appreciate crowds and strange animals or people. You will be asking for a serious crisis, and I wouldn't be surprised if he escapes. It's potentially a disastrous situation. Maybe it will be one that will finally make you listen and learn though.

She never said you abused your cat, nor did she even imply it. She is asking you to look at your reasons for wanting to take Scooby to this party. She is try to help you, as was I. You have called us vulgar and abusive names for trying to give you the experience we have when you asked for guidance. You asked for help--it was offered and you didn't like the outcome so you are being very angry. Who exactly are you angry at? As I said, you will do as you choose. We simply offered advice based on what you said now and in the past.

please, do what is best for the kitty, truly you do not want him stressed, lashing out at someone (that someone could be you), or escaping and possibly getting hurt or lost...
i can't take Spice to a clinic for shots because she is violently sick for 2 days afterword due to the stress of the clinic, even though the clinic fees fit my pocketbook much better than a private vet. I learned this the first time I took her to a clinic. She was so distressed at being put in a carrier (she had been in carriers before) at the house, that she tossed the hard carrier she was in onto a hardwood floor from the couch. i am 1000 percent sure that i put her and the carrier safely on that couch where it couldn't possibly tip over. i should have never taken her to the clinic that day, and yet i did. and got a very sick cat for 2 days from the stress it caused her...
the night I had Velvet PTS, i put her inside my shirt of velvet I was wearing. we were both calm for the 3 mile ride to the vet hospital...

Cheri your post made me cry. I will carry that image of Velvet lying quietly against you inside your velvet shirt on her last earth-bound journey for ever now. ILCF, don't fret, nobody hates you. How could we hate you for being impulsive and a bit excitable? Like Cheri says, it's about scooby, not you or us, or anybody else - it's only about what's best for him. And I promise you, taking him out of his safe, secure territory is not best for him at all, quite the opposite. And by the way, I have answered posts of yours before. I said much the same thing as I'm saying here on a thread you started about inviting a friend and her cat over for a kitty play date..

i just came accross this thread , i was catching up on my reading after working this weekend. cheri your post touched my heart , i had the same problem with my kizzy before she passed away , i would get her into the carrier and she was be scared to death.. cats are not socialable animals like dogs.. cats are independant and it takes time for cats to adjust to new situations . taking a cat for a outing would scare them to death.. why put them through anxiety that is not needed... just let the kitty stay at home and be safe and calm.....

i have to tell you a funny story. one time we went to the vet there was nobody in the reception room so I let Velvet out onto a chair. she expressed her anger at being there by peeing on the seat of 3 chairs. she would soil one, get off it and go to the next one, and so on. i finally realized what was going on and picked her up. a minute later it was time for our appointment and i told the receptionist what had happened. she laughed it off by saying it was the end of the day and everything including the chairs got cleaned and sterlilzed every day...but i was still embarrassed !!!

cheri that is to funny !! velvet expressed herself very well !! you make me laugh !! Oh velvet made her mark that day !!lol... velvet didn't need words... actions speak louder than words thats for sure !! lol.. soo funny !! she's probably at the bridge telling that same story .. all the kits at the bridge are laughing at that story !!

You know Cheri. Hillies pooped on the exam table at her last appointment, right after I told her that hillies was incontinent with both poop and pee

yes kizzy, velvet , bastian , the sammies and all the other kitties have a glass of nip wine telling funny stories about their families ... i can hear velvet say " and you should of seen the look on cheri's face when i peed on that chair, it was priceless" and all the kitties where clapping their paws with delight and laughing !! they are saying " way to go velvet, i bet she almost peed her pants" velvet replies" yeah i knew it would grab her attention , lol" and she said ' i told spice when i got home and we laughed for hours, everytime cheri came in the room we snickered at her " it was sooo funny !!! and velvet says " lets have another round for my meowma cheri" " she was awesome !!" all the kits clap with joy and raise their glasses and say " to cheri !!!"
