  1. YAWN!

The breakfast cafe is gearing up for bizniz! Chef kittehs are busy preparing scrambled eggs, mix for waffles, bagels of every flavor, fresh dairy milk and OJ, all kinds of pastries (minus kitteh hairs), hot and cold cereals and fresh fruit!

Seasonal juice: freshly pressed apple cider :-)

  2. How did your SCA business do this weekend, Siobhan?

Posted 2 years ago by paulajeanne #

  3. We did very well! Thank you for asking PaulaJeanne. This was a non-SCA local Irish Festival. It rained on Friday, and some of our stock in cardboard display boxes got a little wet. Hubby was up for a couple of hours using a blow dryer on the paper and cardboard :-( He got everything good and dry though!

Saturday was a bit cool and cloudy until late in the day, but sales picked up and we had a -great- weekend. We're going to have to make a lot more stock :-)

We have an SCA show this weekend in Chicago... I'm looking forward to it. My back is hurting again though.... very low, right above my butt. I see my doctor tomorrow and hopefully he has some ideas after all the tests I had.

  4. Good morning...send some scrambled eggs my way and a couple of kitties to snuggle. It's always tough getting started on Monday.

  5. Morning PJ and Siobhan. Glad to hear your festival went well Siobhan, I thought of you and hoped it wasn't raining for you.
Take it easy with your back. Especially since you have your SCA this weekend!
    How are you PJ???

  6. Morning LK..you came in while I was typing. How are you today?

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  7. Good luck in Chicago. Hope the Dr can figure out how to help you. Good morning LK.

  9. CM, I'm doing fine this morning. I really enjoyed have Friday afternoon off. I got my errands run and had time just for Chance and Smudge.

  10. Sio, just re-read the title! Was that deliberate? Hokay, I need a chuckle!

  11. So we went to the shore for the weekend; left Leela home alone for the first time. My neice came up to feed her, but boy was she glad to see us yesterday! I think she's going to be one of those "additude cats", who have a problem with us leaving her. She threw up by our stuff the night before we left!

  12. Ug. I got about 4 hours (in 4 instalments) sleep last night, our Harry seems to be a nocturnal boy and kept wanting to get out the shut door, jump on the windowsill, eat, drink, have some fuss...I have total admiration for mums of babies, at least I only had to be with him for his first night!

He's exploring upstairs, we can quite easily close off half the house, leaving P, B & E the dining room, kitchen and outside. This will almost certainly be the day time arrangement for the next couple of weeks until we introduce him to outside.

  13. Good Morning all! I have a busy blustery day here in Illinois! I woke up to 40 mph winds and cold weather. Wanted to stay in bed and snuggle the girls! Hope you all haVe a great day!

  14. Hi Joan, MC and MCW..
Sorry to have disappeared..laundry, changing of diapers and a nap has intruded on my TDK time...lol
MCW..oh god I hear you on that sleep pattern. You don't realize how much you like sleep until you aren't getting what you need. Maybe you can get a nap in later.

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  15. Good moaning, everyone! Hey, MC, could you send some cool weather my way? It was ONLY 95 yesterday (it is supposed to be a little cooler today), but I want some soup (my throat hurts!) and it's too dag gum hot out to eat it! Is it just me, or do weekends go by a lot faster than they need to?

MCW--Harry sounds like such a love bug! Maybe Bosley can come through the wormhole and teach him a thing or two about burying poo---he's the champ!

Posted 2 years ago by FondaHonda #

  16. awwww Bosley!!!
HI FH! You can have our cooler weather too. It's only 60 today and windy and chilly...I do like it though..good sleeping weather.
Weekends fly by! way to fast. I hope you feel better FH.

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  17. I'd gladly take it, CM. Around here, when it's 60 degrees we Texans start building our fires in the fireplace! ;)

Posted 2 years ago by FondaHonda #

  18. Morning, all!

    Oh MCW, do I ever hear you about the nocturnal wanderings thing - George was like that when we first got him. Is it at all encouraging if I tell you that he settled down after a while? There were several weeks where I was sure I was never going to sleep again, though. {{{MCW and Harry}}}

Beautiful day here, although it rained last night so the tennis courts are wet again (boo!). Mr. K is hoping they dry out by 9 so he can get a game in. Apart from that, we're trying to figure out what to do with my 2 weeks off in November, which finally got approved (YAY!).

Happy Moanday to all (or as happy as such a thing can be).

  19. Morning CM, Kilroy, Fonda Honda, and Joan, Molly if you're still here!

Pickle has just met Harry. She was curious, he didn't want to know. I would have let her stay in the room for a while, like we did with Eric last night, but she wasn't having any of it! I think we're going to be getting through A LOT of cat treats this week!

Posted 2 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  20. Buy stock in the cat treats now MCW :)
Hi Kilroy..2 weeks in November...mmmmm drive through New England and feast on Lobster in Maine, visit Lizzie Borden's house in Massachusetts, go eat maple syrup in Vermont and visit Ben and Jerry's and eat lots of ice cream :)

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  21. Definitely DON'T consider the UK for November Kilroy, it's one of the most miserable, grey, cold months we have!

Posted 2 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  22. Kilroy, if you go to Vermont, the Norman Rockwell museum is worth checking out. I believe it's on historic route 7

Posted 2 years ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  23. Morning all! MCW, Harry is just learning how to break you in!! LOL!

  24. Monday Greetings to all fromm cool/windy Milwuakee...gee, it feels like Fall
today but the leaves haven't turned much yet! Apple Cider sounds good to start the work week off with along with my usual large black java & a Calico kit for a smooch! Wishes for a good start to the day/or end to all in TDK land!

Posted 2 years ago by jeankit #

  25. Dorie!!! Hi JK!
It is a fall day here for sure. just wish it wasn't raining!

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  26. CM, it's funny you mentioned the Lizzie Borden house; I did a lot of research/reading about that case in high school. Weird fact, I'm actually distantly related to one of the neighbors who was a witness at the trial. Did you know that the house has been turned into a B&B? That's a little too creepy for me.

We're searching around for a nice cruise, we haven't done one of those for a while, and I think Plan B is the Grand Canyon and New Mexico, which is hardly the end of the world. We can stock up on green chile sauce :0

MCW, we actually *like* miserable rainy weather when we're in England; makes us feel like we're getting the full experience :) It was blustery here this weekend and I went out without a coat, just in jeans & t-shirt, and thoroughly enjoyed the feeling of it. I *hate* hot.

Now, how is it that I always seem to write a novel every time I post here? :)

  27. I got some apple cider this weekend. YUM and full of fiber.

I sure hope the doctors can figure out what's going on with my back. And to top it off...the Monthly Visitor starts this week. Gads. Probably will start this Thursday and go all weekend. GRUMBLE. Menopause can't come quickly enough... I was miserable Saturday morning. Could -not- wake up. I was at the festival for a couple hours, then went home and crashed for another three hours. My husband came home and woke me up (grr) right after I'd gone to sleep to ask "Are you gonna come back down later?" I wanted to yell at him, because he had asked me that when I'd left less than 30 minutes previously and I'd said Yes. Sigh. Men sometimes just don't have a clue.

I was awakened from a sound sleep last night (I swear I levitated in the bed) by a LOUD crack of thunder. Hermes didn't like the storm One Bit: poor little dude was howling in the upstairs hallway (lol).

Posted 2 years ago by Siobhan #

  28. Aww poor Hermes. I don't like it when the thunder and lightening is right over you. Siobhan, your Irish Fair sounds like it was a lot of fun. Glad to hear your back is a bit better. Hope you continue to get a handle on the health issues. MCW, sounds like you are making progress with Harry. I recall being up nights when I first had Sylvester. He was an Indy 500 kitten aka the kitten zoomies. Leela, no fun in being left behind. Don't work yourself up so much that you toss your food. Scary that they left but they came back. Be a velcro kitty for now. Kilroy, I know what you mean about cool weather. I like it when it is windy and cool out too. The Lizzie Borden B&B is just a tad to wierd for me to want to stay there but the trip that CM suggested sounds like fun. Not sure about the lobster part but definitely up for the maple syrup part.

I am tired today and wishing it was still the weekend. We had hot weather and humid weather here in Nor Cal. I had a hard time sleeping so I napped a lot with my two kitties. Because I had the fans blowing, they wouldn't come nap with me on the bed. Although last night Sylvester was such a snuggler. Everytime I woke up, he was there to snuggle, purr and knead. Such a lovebug! I was loving it. I think he was picking up on the fact that I was a little sad yesterday thinking about what my Dad had said to me a week or so ago. We were talking about my cats and I mentioned that I carry a card in case something happens to me so my cats aren't left to starve in my apt with no one to check up on them. I mentioned that I have my parent's number on the card for whomever to call them. My Dad had said to me, oh no you put us as the one's to call and you need to change that. What made me really sad was that I rarely ask for anything of them and this is one thing I might need their help and to have my Dad basically say in so many words - we don't care what happens to your cats really made me extremely sad. So when I get a chance, I will write my Dad a note about my feelings and how important my cats are to me and email it when his internet is back up (hopefully this week) or I may call him since it is hard to convey feelings in an email). I think he only sees them as "pets" and not as family even though he treated the dog as a family member by calling it Sister Mora to me and my sister. Arrrggghh!!

So it is definitely a Moanday for me. Company put out a contest and we got an overwhelming response because someone posted it in a certain type of forum. We got a lot of ineligible participants because of this. Bogged down our email inbox. Now I am sorting through and clearing it out. What fun...not!

  29. Hello everyone, where did the weekend go?!

Posted 2 years ago by metsa #

  30. Good afternoon, all!
I had a busy weekend - dinner with coworkers on Friday night, party on Saturday night and yesterday tennis with XBF and tea with Panera friend. I'm headed out the door in two minutes as we have a meeting at the gym at 1;00 they wanted me there for - at least they promised to feed us (I'm really hoping we're not talking tofu, protein shakes and flax seed!!!)

I'll check in later - hope everyone had a great weekend!
