  1. Hi all! Rough night for me. I couldn't sleep and my tummy flu has seemed to go into a respiratory problem now. Wilma climbed under the covers with me last night and Betty slept outside the covers. We are making progress, they are at least able to be on the same bed (albeit a KING size) and not fight. We are going to have some yummy goodies catered by Denny's today. A coffee/cappucino/tea/cocoa bar is up and running. Juices, Milk, Soda and Water are available. Hope my family is well, prayers for those who need them, hugs to all, and Have a Great Oct 1st!

  2. Ooh, goodie, the caff's opened. MC, are you going to be able to stay home today? you don't sound at all well. So glad Wilma and Betty can tolerate being on the same bed! Golly, October already, this year is nearly over, yikes!

  3. Morning MC and JCat. My doctor gave me an RX for Vicodin and it's finally helping. YAY! Back pain is much more liveable today.

"Frost on the pumpkin" this morning, I had frost on my car windows!

  4. Hi, Siobhan, I'm so glad the doctor was able to give you something, back pain is so horrible, like headaches, it just totally lays you out. Have they worked out what's causing it yet? Hope you can really get on top of it with the vicodin!

  5. Morning all!..... can't believe it's Thurs! where did the week go? MC, feel better, and Sio, I'm glad you're not in so much pain now... Jcat, how is your spring garden doing? are you done planting?

Posted 5 months ago by AV #

  6. No, haven't figured out what it is yet. I get a CT scan next Monday evening. White blood cell count is up, so there's an infection of some kind. Negative for bladder or kidney infection... but I do have significant arthritis and spurring in some lower vertebrae :-(

    Growin' old ain't for SISSIES....

  7. Time to think about fall plantings of bulbs here in Michigan...I had frost on my windshield this morning!

Basil harvest is in and the dehydrator is busy working. One of my holiday cacti is covered with flower buds, I brought it in to the office. Fall plant migration has begun (lol)

  8. ....oooohhhh, I SO wish I could get up to NC this month to see the beautiful changing leaves, but it's just not in my future any time soon :(

  9. Hi, AV, nope, no planting since the spring bulbs, I'm afraid, I still have a few trees and a whole lotta seeds and rose bushes to stick in... have been having a busy work time but it's all money so I can't complain... got out into the garden today to lay a bit of path and hoping to be able to spend the weekend out there but I think we're expecting rain (again)...

Siobhan, getting older sure ain't for the fainthearted, everything seems to start aching once you hit 45, lol...

  10. Morning, all. Looks like a nice fall day here. Mr. K did in fact have to have a tooth pulled yesterday, but it had been giving him so much trouble that he said getting rid of it was a relief. And being my tough guy hubby, by the time I got home from work he was perfectly fine and making dinner (ack!). Sometimes I wish he would let himself slow down just a tad when this kind of thing happens.

  11. I have some new spices (thyme, cilantro, chives & parsley) that have been sitting on my window ledge for a week waiting for me to plant them!..... I just can't seem to find a spare hour to get them in the planters!.....

.... I hope they find the cause of your back pain Sio..... hope it's nothing too serious.... sometimes the siatic nerve gets pinched, but I have a great massage thearpist that can release that!..... It also could be the way you sleep - ever since Hubbs and I bought a memory foam type bed, neither one of us has had a minute of back pain...... I hope for your sake, it's not a slipped disk or something!......

  13. Good morning. Sorry to hear some are still feeling unwell today. Sometimes it makes you feel better just knowing what's going on with your body. It's too bad with all the modern technology that doctors sometimes still can't figure out what's going on.

  14. Lunchtime again, working through again, but thought I'd just stop by and say hi. Sorry your back's causing you so much trouble Siobhan. Hi Kilroy, Jcat, AV & Molly (you take it easy Molly!)

  17. Here on the US east coast, we're all up getting ready for w**k, or up with the "young'ns"........ I'll be heading out shortly, but always like to check in and say hello!...... how's the weather in the UK?...... Fla. is still as hot as an oven, yesturday, we got our first "break", it only went to 84!

Posted 5 months ago by AV #

  18. It's quite a mild day here today in the UK, and dry. Temps in the mid 60's. Colder weather, especially overnight, and grotty rain forecast to hit from tomorrow onwards. Why does it do that on weekends??!!

Posted 5 months ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  19. We just had a frost overnight..down in the 30's..but we might get up to 62 today..whee!! It better warm up a bit...

  20. Hi, MCW, LK and Kilroy. Hi again CM, holy moley, Abbie's nine months? she'll be running around soon...

MCW, how did the yohurt squirt (or not) today? Kilroy, sorry to hear about Mr K's tooth but sounds like he's feeling better already.

Posted 5 months ago by jcat #

  21. I foiled the yoghurt today by bringing a rice pudding instead - HA!!

Posted 5 months ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  22. Kilroy, glad Mr K's tooth is gone and he feels better. It's always a relief when there is no pain.

jcat, she is already almost walking..she is cruising around the couch and other items big time so it's a matter of time before she lets go and starts walking. She is just going so fast with all this stuff, walking, standing, crawling...whew..she's tiring me out.

Posted 5 months ago by cricketsmama #

  23. ....awwww CM!..... once she does take off, watch out!.... chasing two around is mania! yikes!.....*makes note* to send "bottled energy" to CM!.... LOL

... off to w**k now, hope everyone has a great day..... ya'll try to wave some of that cooler air down my way!...... will check in later at the NS.....

Posted 5 months ago by AV #

  24. Yikes, just seen the time, I need to go off to bed... Night/morning all, have a lovely day!

CM, I hope AV can get you some of that bottled energy, you are surely going to need it...

Tee hee, MCW, you showed that yoghurt!

Posted 5 months ago by jcat #

  25. Thanks AV...I will need it!
    Night jcat...
Well Maddie is up now...she asked for bacon and pancakes, so I must go cook..I have to run to the store too but I have to get up the gumption to get the kids ready and get out the door.

  26. Nine months for Abbie! Where does the time go! I, too, have to start work.

Posted 5 months ago by LadyKat of IA #

  27. Go Fishie! Wow, nine months, yikes. I tell you, CM, she'll be asking for the car keys before you know it.

Morning to all who've popped in since I so rudely disappeared.

  28. So far, it doesn't seem like a disc problem in my back, although my doctor said there's some compression and spurring due to arthritis. :-( We've ruled out a few things, like disc problems, kidney infection or bladder infection.

Posted 5 months ago by Siobhan #

  29. Doctor Hermes(tm) spent time with me yesterday, I always appreciate it when the kitties want to cuddle and play Nurse :-)

I wish I could train him to walk on my back and make biscuits (lol) Free kitty massage....

Posted 5 months ago by Siobhan #

  30. Just one of those head-bangingly frustrating days when Boss is distracted by family stuff and I'm getting nowhere fast...GRRR!
