  2. I have always found Kenmore brand to be quite reliable. The dryers more so than the washers. I've had some trouble with the timer units on the washers but I understand it's not that uncommon for all brand washers.

  3. I have a Kenmore - came with the house. Mom always had Kenmore and never had any problems. Friend had a Maytag washer - after 4 Maytag repairmen and waiting for 2 weeks for parts - that never showed - he went out and bought a new washer - from Sears. That's my 2 cents for today. :)

  7. Kenmore is Sears' brand. You might want to check sites like Epinions and the like. When my dryer broke down, I got your basic whirlpool, few bells and whistles, but it dries great.

  8. I had a Kenmore dryer for 30+ years, a floor model. Never had a problem with it except to have to change the heater thingy every so many years. It finally quit and I have a whirlpool now. I miss my old dryer.... it was cheap to run too and never ruined anything.
    Good luck!!!

  9. They don't get any better or longer-lasting than Kenmore or Roper(which is a Sears brand). All of the above posters are on the mark.
