Hey guys i am new to the forum. I just got a new kitten. He is orange with white stripes. I heard you shouldn't give them milk. Is that true? I gave him a little bit but i am trying to introduce him to water now.

Welcome, Scottishfold! I have two orange tabbies, myself - but they are great old ladies :-) It's true, kitties don't digest cow's milk very well. I always find it sad, because my kitties LOVE milk, but it makes them sick. Don't worry too much if he only drinks a little water - just make sure he has some available all the time, and he'll help himself.

There's a milk available in pet stores and some grocery stores called "Pet Sip". You can give that to a cat. If he's just a wee kitten, you can give him KMR (kitten milk replacement). Just water it down more than you would if he was only getting a bottle. Most cats who eat wet food on a daily basis don't need too much additional water.

Do you want to hear something really sad? My kitties LOVE milk and they HATE Pet Sip. I bought them a big container, thinking it would be such a treat for them -- and they looked at me like I was trying to serve them poison. I should have known - these are the cats that turn up their noses as the lovely new cat bed I bought; they'd rather sleep in the box it came in.

Lol, the kitten on the video is too cute. Yours sounds lovely and I am probably biased because I do love orangies (having 4 of them myself).
