Hey everyone,
I just wanted to give you all an update about how I am doing with grad school and whatnot.
Wednesday- I got to the place where I was staying & explored the streetcar to campus. Had a wonderful sushi dinner for cheap!
Thursday- I had orientation for 8 hours and had a negative experience with a fellow cohort member that affected my whole day. Ended up staying in that night, getting some grounding going on. and I still had major nerves! I ended up talking to the Program head about the disabilities I face and she was really understanding.
Friday- FIRST CLASS!! Major anxiety and nervousness. The class is Social Work & Social Welfare Policy, and not one of my favs as of yet. I talked to my instructor individually and talked about accommodations that could be useful for me. She understands and I don't have to jump through the hoops of the Disability Resource Center hoops. Ended up going out to a traditional Irish pub and had wonderful corned beef and cabbage with fresh tapped Guinness! yumm!
Saturday- SECOND CLASS! This class is Human behavior and the Social Environment. It's ok so far, but seems like a review from my undergrad so far, I hope it gets better. I'm planning to drive back to Eugene tonight, after I hangout with a friend up in Portland.
Let me know if you have any questions, etc!
So far so good...
But I need to remember to breathe.....
