We have been looking for him since 10am !! He escaped this morning when Mike went outside to change the litter box. We are so worried about him! He has never been outside before ! Please say a prayer that my baby comes home safe!!

Keeping him in my thoughts, SM, and willing him to come home soon. Have you been outside calling him and (often more effective) rattling a tin and tin opener or box of kibble or whatever he eats? It can also be good to just sit outside for a while with a book (although I don't know what your weather's like just now) and talk to him conversationally, this can sometimes bring a scared kitty out. Put food down for him outside and take something with your and/or his scent on it -- an unwashed sweater or his blanket from his bed -- and put it on your porch or wherever he left from, to give him a chance to find his way home. Best of luck! I know there is a website with good suggestions, I'll have a look for it for you.

Oh no, this is not good news - come on Mowgli! Do you think he'd recognize the door from the outside SM? Do you have an enclosed yard at the back, or is it open? All I can say is that cats will not stray far from their known territory (and I'm assuming M is fixed, which makes it even less likely he'll go far). He will probably have found himself a 'safe' hidey hole, maybe a dense shrub or thicket, or even a parked truck or car, and stay there, peeking out at the strange world. You need to get the word out, so that people know who to tell if they spot him, and you need to get out into the neighbourhood, calling your head off, and to h*** with the stares you'll get. That's how I found my Lolie when she disappeared for 2 days - she heard me and she answered from her hidey hole (but I still had to go in there to bring her out). She was half a block away, in another garden, but frozen in terror all that time. She had never been out in her new neighbourhood either (we had just moved).

UPDATE!

Mowgli came home at like 4am!
He found his window and started meowing like crazy. I think someone in my condo complex may have taken him in thinking he was a stray (because he didn't have his collar on - see last weeks post on first collar gone wrong)
It was raining yesterday and he came home dry, I am thinking that he started in with his pitiful meow and they let him out!! I have never been so happy to hear him crying and so overwhelming happy to have him home safe!!I was an emotional train wreck yesterday, so again I thank you all for your kind words in my time of need!!
