  1. So couple weeks it's been since I took my cat Ricky to the vet. I am glad the fleas are gone but his problem still isn't.

Poor guy got me worried tonight. I took him to the vet a week and a half ago the doc said he may have bowl inflammation. He didn't see any worms in what stool was there too offer him (what the cat let him get lol. He is very sensitive about his tail being touched). He put him on antibiotics and gave me pills to feed him but that didn't work. I tried every day till they were gone and the vet said not to force it on him.

His anus area is still red and irritated. Maybe a little swollen I guess. It's been almost a month since he's been dealing with this. I don't think his sides hurt when you touch them. He is still somewhat normal maybe a little more tired than usual but still eats and drinks plenty.

Just tonight he scared me and the vets are closed, he was meowing (kinda like he wasn't happy meow) and licking the anus area and meowing while he was licking. I touched his sides then and he didn't like it too much.

It's been 3 days since I've been feeding him the drops the vet gave me. he told me to feed them 2 times a day to him but he's such a sensitive cat and doesn't like to be surrounded so it's kinda emotional on him. SO i Just have been doing it 1 time.

We did just get a new kitten a month and 2 weeks ago the doc thought this may have something to do with it too.

I just tired of my buddy not feeling good :( Any quick ideas maybe to ease my mind. I am taking him tomorrow anyways, our vet is very courteous on visits and doesn't overcharge like most.

    thanks

  2. Angie - How's poor Ricky doing? Did the vet have any good ideas? Be sure to let you vet know how diffcult it is to dose Ricky - he might have some good suggestions on how to get more of the medicine into your boy kitty.

I have a terrible time dosing my kitties, too, so I know it is quite a challenge!

  3. I don't know if your meds are pills, or liquid, but the only non-stressful way I have found to "dose" Cuddles is to crush her pills (I do it in a morter/pestel) and mix it in a teaspoon of stage 1 baby food meat.... it works well too, to mix the liquid meds in a teaspoon of meat also!.... she loves it, and eats the whole thing at once... best of luck, and thank you for caring for those furbabies!

  4. Hey guys thanks for all the replies, sorry haven't been able to get back. My comp has been on the fritz trying to get a new one.

The vet visit went good, he said it was still bowl inflammatory just a little worse than what it was when we took him in. He gave him 3 types of shots to kick out of his system. It worked fine for 2 days he was a happy cat chasing the kitten around again.

It's been another week since those 2 days I was really hoping that this would just leave his system. I am calling the vet again tomorrow. Now he doesn't care about the litter box anymore and I gotta go buy a shampooer :(.

His diarrhea changed a bit seems kinda greenish/grey with some blood and he is vomiting more at least 1 time a day. I had been giving him some wet food maybe hoping it would help digest easier.

Any suggestions on what to feed a cat with bowl inflammatory problems?

Poor Ricky wish I could just make it all go away with a finger snap.

One more question. Has anyone ever introduced a kitten with an older cat to the house hold? Did it ever have this bad of a situation. My vet thinks it's stress from the kitten but when he feels ok they play like they are best buddies.
