  1. Today in 1968, peaceful civil rights protestors were first attacked by Northern Ireland police, which led to a three-day riot in the city of Derry. This is widely considered to be the starting point of The Troubles, a period of violence that would rage in Ireland until the late 1990s.

    Also today in 1969, the famous comedy troupe Monty Python aired the first episode of Monty Python's Flying Circus. One of the most influential comedy series to ever air, it is still watched and admired to this day.

    Monty Python's type of humor certainly was wacky! Great Comedians got their start on that show too! Monday thanks to Dee for this bit o' information!

  3. I love Monty Python!!! When my brothers, sister and I get together one of their classic sketches always seem to revived!!! hahhaa
