  1. So I recently adopted a stray kitten, and I estimate that he is about 6 months old. He was living with a neighbor until she could find a home fore him. He has been living with my husband and I for a week now. He is used to being an outdoor/indoor kitty, but we have decided to keep him inside because we live in a busy area and are worried about his safety.
Now the last couple of nights he has gotten into EVERYTHING. I try to put things that are not cat proof away, but he always finds something else to play with. He meows in our faces, climbs all over us, begs for food early in the morning, and is jut being annoying. We live in a studio apartment, so we can't lock him out of our bedroom. My husband gets up very early for work (4am) and he is getting very frustrated with the kitty. He even said this morning that we might have to get rid of him. :( That would break my heart. Milo (the kitty) is getting neutered today, so I'm hoping that that will help with his crazy behavior. Do yous guys have any suggestions? Is it just a phase that will pass as he gets older? Will neutering help?

  2. Neutering will help some but remember as in all babies whether human or animal, he is just a baby. Play with him late at night before you go to bed to get him tired and try feeding him a bit so that he has a full stomach and can sleep. Welcome to TDK and there should be someone more knowledgeable than I about kittens online soon.

  3. AZD made good suggestions, you might also leave dry kibble for him to snack on thru the night. Another thing to try is a spray water bottle beside the bed and when he's bothersome give him a misting. With our kitties it only took a couple times of actual misting, then the mere presence of the bottle was enough. And they do still sleep with us so it didn't scare them away, just let them know what was annoying behavior.

  4. Yeah, we leave Milo dry food during the day and the night, and he does eat it. We pretty much let hi free feed on the dry food. We also give him wet food 3 times a day. (So we end up feeding him a can a day.) I think that he is begging for the wet food because he loves it! I'll have to try the spray bottle though. He is getting neutered today, so hopefully that will help also.

  5. The neutering will help but as the others said he is still a baby so expect lots of activity. Make sure he has toys to play.
