Heartfelt LOVE & HUGS

(8 posts)
  1. I wanted to jump in w/the few moments I have & give my TDK Family Love & Hugs. I miss you all very,very much. Sending Purrday wishes out to all my littermates(2-leg & 4-leg) that I've missed. And my Deepest Prayers & Condolences who have lost Family & Pets in my absence.
    I still don't have any kind of normalcy here w/Hissy. She looked as if she was starting to come home regularly & was starting to heal. Now I haven't seen sight of her in 3 days. I managed to trap & relocate only 1 possum. There seems to be a second one. And an attempt at trapping a quite aggressive (teenaged) racoon the other night failed. He's quite smart & very fast. I can only keep trying & Praying that Hissy,if she's still out there,stays safe from it & comes back home. Your continued Prayers for Hissy & my success in catching this dangerous racoon are all I can ask for.

    I Miss You All!! Love, Susie

  5. Susie, I was just wondering how Ms. Hissy was doing. Glad to hear she is healing. Hope that she continues to get better and that you are able to trap her. I got one email from the Homeless Cat people and they said they were going to contact someone they knew in the Tracy area that might have that drop trap to borrow. I have a sinking feeling it is the woman who made promises and didn't keep them. Anyways, I haven't heard anything other than that. I will try emailing them again but we need to find a way to make one as it seems borrowing might not be an option. If any TDKers has any ideas on this or wants to help make one, let Susie or me know.

  6. Thanks you guys...I haven't quite given up yet,altho my body is telling me different. This is the first year I've had major problems w/my hands & arthritus. It's so painful at times I can hardly use them.

    Karin...I'm pretty sure their contact is the same as the woman I dealt with. I doubt you'll be hearing from them. I was pretty direct when I let Rose know her actions were not acceptable. Hissy did finally show up a little while ago. I could only get within about 15 ft. of her. It doesn't look like she has any new injuries on her but, I wasn't pleased w/the way she looked. I'm sure the weakness I saw in her was from not eating enuf but, her pupils were dialated very large...something I've only seen when a cat has been euthanized. So, I don't know if that's a sign of shock coming out in her system,or maybe widespread infection,or what. She took off again before I could see which way she went.
    Even if I could scrape up the materials around here to try & make a similar drop trap,she is so skittish that I think the little bit of difference in the appearance of the trap would scare her away. I'll continue to try & trap the racoon that keeps coming around but, can only hope I can figure out a way to build some kind of camoflage trap to catch her. Thank you so much for trying w/the Homeless Cat Rescue tho. {{{HUGS}}}

  7. Hi Susie! That Ms. Hissy is one tough siamese and I honestly didn't think she'd survive these last wounds she got. I just wonder...how far are you relocating these possums and racoons? They'll travel many miles to return to a feeding area and it sounds to me like they've tagged your trailer park for a great feeding spot. I sure hate to think that after going to all the trouble to trap them that they'd end up returning in a week. If in fact they're the ones causing Ms. Hissy's injuries though, even a temporary absence can at least give her an edge with her getting back on her feet. Hugs 'n' Prayers to you sis.

  8. Hi sis! I'm transporting them far enuf away. I've never had the same ones return. There's a farmer down the street that lets us release them there,where they get fed & watered & find it much more suitable to live. Each year,it's a whole new generation of them. Problem is...noone in this park gives a rats behind about trapping & relocating them. They b***h & whine about the damage they're doing to their homes but, nothing else. There are only a couple of us 'cat owners' here that bother to trap & remove them humanely & safely. Then there are a few evil monsters that think it's okay to poison or shoot them & then throw them over the levee. Even worse...these monsters themselves own animals.
