  1. Good Morning All!

Thought I'd start the Cafe today before I head into w**k......

..... large skillets of fritattas are set out - cheese/ham.... sausage/spinach.....bacon/onion/tomatoe...... fresh fruits and juices... pastries of all sorts...... LARGE pots of coffee and a nice selection of tea....

...... get a good start to your day...... when it's over, it's closer to the weekend now.......

  2. I will tell you about my morning..... I was woken up at sparrow fart (somewhere I think about 5:30 or 6am) by a large "crash"..... coming from the porch, I run out there, to discover that "Sol", the "bad" parakeet in a single cage has somehow gone from sitting on the counter, to sitting on the ground.... hmmmmmmm....... about that same time, Abby "innocently" strolls by.... upon closer inspection, I notice tiny "feathers" that have adhered to her face and paws...... hmmmmmmmm...........needless to say, bird seed was everywhere, so I spent a good 30 min. with a "hand held" vacumn getting it up.... water made it a gummy mess, so that was even more fun....... Sol had to be separated from the other two old lady parakeets because a couple of weeks ago, he decided to "challenge" the oldest one for the "alpha" position, and was injuring her.......the big cage is on a stand so that "you know who" can't get to them.... Sol in his single cage was just sitting on the counter, but now it looks like I'll have to find somewhere else more "un-attainable"....

.... anyone want a parakeet?..... LOL

  3. Hi AV! Oh how fun, cleaning up bird seed while an "inocent" Abby looks on.
The sun is out here now, but we had some nasty storms overnight and more on the way today with lots of wind.
Um, no I'm not really in the market for a parakeet!

  4. Whoa, the wind blew me into the cafe this morning! I'd love a big serving of fresh frittata, please...does it have bacon in it?

  5. Well, Wilma's vet visit today was a bust. I tried for three LONG hours to find her to no avail. She just KNEW. After a crying spree I told her she won and I was going to work. I have no idea where she is whatsoever. I guess those staples will come out another day. :(

  6. Oh, AV, parakeets and cats - what fun! When we moved into this house 9 years ago, I had one parakeet left of two that Richard had gotten me for my birthday a few years earlier. After we got all the furniture in the house we set her cage near the slider so she could enjoy the day and Richard and I were down in the basement getting our office together, when we heard out youngest son, 13 at the time, yelling for us. We ran upstairs to find a cat had ripped a screen off the window and had gotten into the house and was actively hunting our poor little bird. Our bird was fine, screen was not, and our son was shaking with anger! He is like his father - not a cat person and will never be one.

  7. MC, poor Wilma has had enough of vets and she knew you were looking for her. Better luck next time.
AV, that is not a good way to get up in the morning. Maybe Abby just wanted to play with Sol...or maybe not.
Everyone have a good day even if it does start a little bad--look for something good and you'll find it.

  8. Oh no, MC! Bad Wilma! Don't you know mommy just wants to make you feel better? :(

Windy here this morning, but no rain so far.

  9. Hi guys!..... yes, it's always an adventure here!.....

Wilma, you need to come to your Mama young lady!.....Mr. Vet isn't THAT bad, and of course, it's for your own good!

... and of course there's bacon in the fritatta!...... who can live without bacon?.......

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  10. Hi Abs and everyone!!! I will take some of the frittata to w/bacon. Yum!! Beautiful day here in Cent. Fla. 75 dry degrees!! Have a great day everyone.

  11. SOM, how did your part of Fla. miss the record heat wave?..... 93 high here today AGAIN!.... ick!...... Heading off to w**k now, hope everyone has a great day, keep the bacon fritattas going!.....

*hopes* the "barricades" I put around Sol's cage stay in tact!........ LOL

  12. Leela is afraid to be in the house alone today, it's windy and scary. She is going to slip thru the wormhole with Larry the Protector and try to coax Wilma out and play with Betty.

Posted 2 years ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  13. Morning All! Send some of that FL heat here, PLEASE! I would kill to have that :)
Oh no, MC...I guess Wilma thinks she had enough spa adventures to last her! No thanks on the parakeet, AV....I am not a bird person :) Hope everyone has a super day!

  14. Yep, we are in the low 90's again today too. But I love it.It is a dry high heat and I guess my old bones like it. It helps having a pool nearby too. :)

  16. Sigh....'wipes the tears from her eyes'......90's......I can't even remember how that feels! It is 42 here right now, next week in the 40's for highs :(((

  17. Woke up feeling weird today. Wonder if I had a bad dream that I just don't remember. Still feel kinda weird. Don't know how to snap out of it

  18. Talked with the vet, she said "Relax Mom! Its ok!". She said we have about a week to play with on her staples. So she said when Wilma shows her face, catch her and bring her in. If it is in the middle of the night put her in her crate and bring her first thing in the morning. They will work her in. Since I had to wait for her, she will have to wait on them. She hopes the staples will get annoying to Wilma and she will show up WANTING them out! I have had them in my tummy and they are annoying! :P

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  19. Gini, do you feel sick or just that uncomfortable feeling that something is just not right? I get one of those uncomfortable feeling once in a great while. I have learned to concentrate on something else. Do something you really like doing and take some deep breaths to calm the body.

Posted 2 years ago by LadyKat of IA #

  20. I don't feel sick; more uncomfortable like something isn't right. I can't shake the feeling even though I've been up for almost 3 hours

  22. Morning everyone, see that others have had 'crashes' of sorts this morning too. Working on getting rid of this headache, was sitting in the living room enjoying the coolness of the morning and glancing thru the newspaper. Hope that everyone has a wonderful day.

  25. Good Morning Y'all, I hope all is well with you and yours. I am getting excited, I board the train in memphis tonight heading to Chicago. I will arrive in the morning at 9am. I think a visit to the Chicago Art Institute is on my list of things to do. My son is graduating from the Naval Recruitment Center Friday morning at 9am. He will come back to Mississippi to train for his job as first mate to the Aerographer (a fancy word for weather man on a carrier) at Kessler Air Force base in Biloxi, MS. Kessler does base sharing especially fo those entering weather related military services. Anyhoo, I board the train on Friday nite at 8pm and return south. I am getting pretty excited, have I said that already?

  26. Hi Tinafish! Ooh, the Art Institute is wonderful. My favorite exhibits include the paperweights and the Thorne Rooms. The Thorne Rooms are dioramas for big kids, rooms from various times and places that have been painstakingly re-created, down to the tiny candles in chandeliers, miniature furniture and rugs.... just adorable.

Posted 2 years ago by Siobhan #

  27. Hey Tinafish, are you excited? :)
My dad was an Aerographer in WWII - "a weather guesser" as my retired Navy Commander brother puts it! You must be so proud. Enjoy the moment and safe travelling.
Cheri, you better not forget that food for you-know-who. Amazing, we can live without certain things, but if we are out of cat food, the world comes to a screeching halt!
Hello to all who have stopped by the cafe since I last wandered in.

Posted 2 years ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  28. Tina, be sure to eat some Chicago Pizza while you are there!

  29. Morning, Everyone! We woke up to 53 degree, overcast weather this morning. Thank goodness we got the aquarium set up yesterday for the baby turtles. They have lots of nice dirt to burrow under.

It's a perfect day for quilting and I'm working on one that must be finished by the end of the month. So I think that I'm heading up to my quilt room to do some serious stitching!

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  30. Morning WWM, bet the baby turtles are happy little ones this morning. Have fun quilting today, and enjoy your overcast weather.

Watching Africam this morning and seeing what the animals are doing since its evening there.
